/yall still believe in god ? how old r yall
For one, stalin didn't have people killed in the name of atheism. People actually had wars in the name of their religion. Aint no war in the name of atheism.
Two, duhh religion doesn't kill because its not a being. The people who follow the religion kills though
Raised in the Georgian Orthodox faith, Stalin later became an atheist. His government promoted atheism through special atheistic education in schools, anti-religious propaganda, the anti-religious work of public institutions (Society of the Godless), discriminatory laws, and a terror campaign against religious believers. By the late 1930s, it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion.[104]
Stalin's role in the fortunes of the Russian Orthodox Church is complex. Continuous persecution in the 1930s resulted in its near-extinction as a public institution: by 1939, active parishes numbered in the low hundreds (down from 54,000 in 1917), many churches had been leveled, and tens of thousands of priests, monks and nuns were persecuted and killed. Over 100,000 were shot during the purges of 1937–1938.[105][106] During World War II, the Church was allowed a revival as a patriotic organization, and thousands of parishes were reactivated until a further round of suppression during Khrushchev's rule. The Russian Orthodox Church Synod's recognition of the Soviet government and of Stalin personally led to a schism with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
All other religions in the Soviet Union, including the Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Catholic Churches, Baptists, Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism underwent similar ordeals: thousands of monks were persecuted, and hundreds of churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, sacred monuments, monasteries and other religious buildings were razed.
People believed in something before they were slaves. U don't have to believe in the white man's god to believe in something more..Believe in an invisible product brehs. Massa told you, so it's true brehs.
Stalin did have people killed in the name of atheism... What? He had religions figures and practitioners executed and even destroyed buildings used for religious practice. His ideology was based on philosophers that believed religion needed to be eliminated.
I don't want to quote the books but here is the wiki article that sums it up
The quote touches on your second point. I also already mentioned that people that practice religion incorrectly are the ones to blame, the same goes for atheists. Understand, I don't follow a religion, I just find your thoughts a tad bit silly and uninformed, imo.
He killed for political power reasons.
The people who had power, just so happen to be religious.
Its a difference between killing in the name of atheism and being a killer who happens to be atheist.
Now lets say he did kill in the name of atheism, stating that he outweighed all the murders of religious wars is ridiculous.
Shoot look at recent times.
Look at all these events where radical religious people are kidnapping people, blowing up things, etc. You aint hearing about no radical atheists bombing a church nowhere. But you claim religion makes the world better. shytttttttt
My goodness, have you not seen the data collected on the deaths that were directly related to Stalin's rule? Like I said earlier, it's a dumb argument because the numbers for deaths directly related to religion can't be accurately determined. Stop saying what is and isn't if you don't have any clue or evidence to back your claims. This argument based on your opinions and interpretations will not continue. A few keystroke will grant you access to the largest library, it's foolish to continue arguing the way you are.
edit: And with the way you are responding, it's obvious you just glance over my posts. Almost everything you typed is something I touch on in previous posts, yet you still bring it up as new talking points.
You still missing the point.
Even if stalin killed alot in the name of atheism, thats only one person in control. Comapre that to all the people who killed in history because of religion. Thats dumb to say religion makes the world better.
shyt the bible tells people to be put to death. Non believers not reading a book telling them to kill people.
I never said religion makes the world better. Like is said before, we have no numbers to make the comparison. I can't quote or speak on the bible because I haven't read it thoroughly yet.

You can make some sound arguments in favor of that but I don't fully agree with it.Well somebody said that with religion the world is a better place than without it.
Well, we actually have data on that. There have been more people killed in the name of secular reasons (money, land, politics, etc.) in the past 100 years, than have been killed for religious reasons in the last 3,000 years of recorded history......

Bruh, people don't even want to read short posts, they sure as hell aren't going to read through an encyclopedia. But yes, you are correct.I guess the causes of the other 92% of major conflicts aren't as important to some people as getting rid of 'G-d'.
How do you get rid of something when you don't even know what it is?

Yeah, but fuk that shyt.
