I'd rather go 6 straight times and win once myself. But I think some of you are writing off this question too easily. You go 6 times and win once, your legacy is always being questioned. But if you go 1-1, then atleast you're somewhat respected as a great player ala Dirk Nowitzki. I know he's actually 1-2 in the finals but my point still stands. We always tend to forget about that loss in 06. But look at how we pile on LBJ and question his legacy amongst the GOAT because of that dismal finals record.

But there isn't a person alive who thinks Dirk is ranked higher than Lebron. Your legacy shouldn't be questioned anymore than any other of the other 29 teams who didn't win.

Losing in the first shouldn't be better for your legacy than losing in the finals. Like people are actually arguing that Lebron made a mistake dragging his Cavs to the finals to lose against Spurs should count worse on him than losing to the Wizards or Pistons. That's stupid as fukk to me.

If you lead your team to the finals 6 consecutive seasons and win 1 or 2 times you will be recognized as a top 10 player all-time.You may question where that player ranks amongst the top 10 players ,but you can't deny that player his top 10 placement. On the other hand, the player who goes 1-1 will never be considered a top 10 all time player. Also, most great players have bonus stipulations written into their contract. So if they make a total of 5 million in bonuses everytime they reach the finals, that's 30 million dollars(5m x 6 finals=30m)

so would you lose on purpose in the west/east conference finals to avoid going to the finals if you werent 100% sure you'd win?

I wish you Lebron haters would cut the "Ray allen saved Lebron" bullshyt out.

In game 6 vs the jazz,Kerr hit the GW shot.
In game 6 vs the suns,Paxon hit the GW shot.
In game 5 vs the Lakers,Paxon made every big shot in the 4th qt.
In game 6 vs portland the bulls were down 79-64 after 3 qt.They went on a 14-2 run with Jordan on the bench and ended up winning the championship in 6 games.
Horry hit the GW shot vs the kings.
Fisher hit the GW shot vs the spurs.

Teams win championships,not individuals.

And do what exactly? Retire? Tank games on purpose? :dahell:

I don't think you guys understand the phrasing of the question. Of course I would love to have the opportunity to win multiple chips, but I would rather be Michael Strahan and go out on top than be some loser-fakkit that went a ton of times and lost.

I would always be the type of person to compete and try and win, I'm very competitive. But if I had to pick a career that already finished, I would rather be the guy that went once and won once than the guys that went a bunch of times and lost.

But yes, if the sportsbooks and corrupt people that run these leagues told me, "Hey, we'll give you $50 million so the hot young up-and-comer wins and Nike's shares go up and we get money from jerseys if you tank." YOu bet your sweet ass I'm tanking that shyt.

Trash thread, Op a fakkit. 1 title, 6 conference chips>>>>1 title, 1 conf chip.

Despite the Bills' being clowned for 91-94, they'd still rather have 4 conf chips than 0. Commit that, OP. WOAT thread.

1 time....I'm all about championships. All that "been there 6 times stuff" is the equivalent of a participation trophy.

And if you know what you're doing, you can easily flip that into other gigs...look at Michael Stahand for example.

EDIT: mis read....of course 1 time win with 6 losses as opposed to 1/1 appearance only.

but if given the choice of 6 attempts and no rings and 1 attempt and one ring then I'd take the 1 ring.
