No, they don’t.

Not like they know Jay songs. “Can I Get A...” is some chit that (and I quote)
“got played at every Bar Mitzvah”. Those are the songs that win on Versuz,
and Nas doesn’t have very many songs like that.

All of those songs I named are well-known Nas records. Illmatic is the one album that Nas is universally given credit for, and the album that a lot of people use to make it seem like they're really into hip hop when they're not. "If I Ruled the World" had its lyrics put on Sprite cans. "Made You Look" is an iconic banger in Nas' catalogue.

I get that Jay has more commercial, radio-friendly tracks to choose from, but it's not like people don't know Nas' songs like that. He has hits.

Why are you bringing up Bar Mitzvah’s on a hip hop forum, and Versuz, the way some of you pander to things and people out your culture is a shame, reason why I loved the Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, or Bernie Man vs Bounty Killer vs or Teddy Riley vs Babyface clashes, Hip Hop has turned into a culture vulture paradise cause of people like you who enable it, no disrespect to anyone but what does songs getting played in a bar mitzvah have to do with Jay-Z and Nas and the culture of rap in general?

Those are not the songs which win on VS I say again you haven’t been keeping up, VS is not formulated around Bilboard hits, unless the artists are rappers who’s career is formulated around them like Nelly or Luda for example.

Blah blah blah, Nas don’t have the songs folk want to hear again and again like Jay got.

The reason I brought up Bar Mitzvahs is because (no matter how you feel about those) they are parties.
Parties are hip-hop. No matter what you saying the Versuz battles are supposed to be about, the songs that’s
winning rounds are the ones that rock the parties. Nas can’t fucc with Jay in that realm. It is what it is.

I can name more than 10 Nas song because I am a fan of his. He may be a better rapper than Jay Z, but to think he has enough hits to go toe to toe with Jay in a Versuz battle is silly.

This isn’t a 2 hour performance at Coachella with cac fans

this is a battle between classic songs in an environment surrounded by mostly a black audience and peers of the artists

Nas has 7 songs on Illmatic that is beating any Jay Z song, so how exactly would Nas have no chance overall?

Not all Versuz songs are classic and the fact you think the audience is mostly black just proves that you dudes on the Coli is out of touch. What do you mean by “beating any Jay Z song”? How are you quantifying that?

Nas got hits, but they earbud cuts - he don’t got no party jams like Jigga Man, mayne.

Let’s be reality - if niccas wanted to be petty about it, they could set up a Versuz “battle”
between Nas and Jay-Z features and see who wins...

So, is Versuz about playing bangers or is it about playing well-known songs that resonated with a large audience?
