For Nas to win a battle like this against Jay you’d have to create a playlist for him that pulls out all the stops as far as mainstream shyt, and he’ll still probably lose.

Oochie Wally
Made You Look
If I Ruled The World
Ether
Hate Me Now
The World Is Yours
On The Real
Shoot Em Up (this song used to blast outta rides even in hoods in the south)
Got Urself A Gun

Are the type of songs Nas would have to roll out to have a shot. Problem Nas would have is, most if not all of his mainstream “hit” songs that the majority of the masses would recognize predate 2004

Jay has 47 gold & plat albums/songs to pull from vs Nas 13

Jay 47 is only based off him being the lead artist. So songs like What’s free (gold) or Umbrella (multi plat) not even in that 47

but Nas got a chance lol

You do realize this isn’t a billboard competition?

If that was the case Eminem and Drake is beating everyone.

I’m starting to think y’all have never watched the Verzuz battles and understand what’s its about

most likely on the coli...

in real life where mainstream matters with all the casual rap fans watching? fukk no.

just watch any of the verses battles, major hits carry a huge portion of the matchups. jay is dusting anybody not named pac or snoop.
Who cares what casual rap fans think?

Nas has good songs Jay Z has hits. The average person watching these Versuz couldn’t name you more than 10 Nas songs. Ask them to name 10 Jay songs and watch how easily they start naming songs. Only on the Coli...
If you can’t name 10 Nas songs your opinion is completely irrelevant.

Nas is my favorite rapper, but this whole "x aged poorly" narrative pushed on this site needs to go. Just because you don't like the songs anymore doesn't mean they aged poorly. A lot of those "Pop commercial hits" are classic songs that even many of us as Nas fans can't deny.
Vol 2 wasn’t that good to me in real time, but it really sounds bad now. Same with Vol 3.

It was to an extent. Which is why people were scratching their heads when Premo played MOP or some of the lesser known Gangstarr tracks. Meanwhile RZA played all the known Wu bangers and the coli had RZA winning as a result. It’s not like RZA was playing Tearz, Impossible, Black Jesus or the original version of All I Need. He pulled out the version with Mary on it for a reason
:heh:
RZA had a couple missteps. Assassination Day. Maria. Otherwise his song selection was impeccable.

Yeah, but in the grand scheme of things what does it really mean. Jay Z still performs songs from these albums and still garner a huge response from crowds.

No disrespect but this is pure stan shyt. These battles have been going on for months yet you still don't get that the amount of hits dictates who wins more often than not...especially in the rapper v rapper battles? Hov probably has 2-3 times as many hit records as Nas, if not more. NYSOMII, a (dope) song that no one outside of Nas fans cares about, is going to beat HARD KNOCK LIFE? Stop it fam. This is a mainstream battle that trends on twitter and gets hundreds of thousands of views...it's not a bunch of "real hip hop heads" sitting in their dark rooms keeping score and getting mad when Hov plays Run This Town instead of Only A Customer.
:mjlol:
Oh shyt. This whole time I thought it was NYSOM and not NYSOM 2. NYSOM 2 definitely loses to HKL :mjlol:

I can name more than 10 Nas song because I am a fan of his. He may be a better rapper than Jay Z, but to think he has enough hits to go toe to toe with Jay in a Versuz battle is silly.
