I agree that Jay has more hits. He focused on it far more than Nas did. I’m not saying that Nas didn’t try to make hits, but radio/club bangers was way more Jay’s wheelhouse.

that being said, they both have way more than 20 hits/culturally significant songs. Even if Jay has more, thst doesn’t mean his best 20 are better than Nas’.
I agree with you to an extent. If it was 10 songs Nas could get him. But 20 I don’t think is possible. Nas wouldn’t be able to counter one of those Jay singles with one of his classic album cuts becuz the singles always hit different in these things. Jay just has way more songs that can take people back to their club and party years and that was never Nas’ strength. Especially those prime Roc years when they ran the streets. Even when it comes to features. Yea we love Verbal Intercourse but in this format it’s not gonna see What We Do Is Wrong for example

I completely disagree. Nas wins by playing classic records, not hits.
Nas isn’t going to beat Jay at his own game.

What you fail to overstand is it’s not Jay’s “own game” - it’s THE game.

An artist in the music industry is primarily judged on their greatest hits.

The songs that are on the actual album Nas’ Greatest Hits are not necessarily Nas greatest songs.
There is a reason for that.

Rick Ross- Triple Beam Dreams
Jhene Aiko- 10K Hours
DJ Khaled- Victory
DJ Khaled and Scarface- Hip Hop
Hi Tek- Music
Amy Winehouse- Like Smoke
Wale- Thing Of Ours
Chris Brown- Mirage
Prodigy- Self Conscious

Hell no on these, but at least your list was better than other dude in here.

As for the legit ones, it would depend on the matchups...

Oochie Wally You Owe Me,Hate Me Now If I Ruled The World is enough, how many club songs you want? Jay probably has like 3/4 more clubs songs than those 3.

I wasn’t suggesting you didn’t know 10 Nas songs.
I agree with you that there are going to be people who would tune into the battle that wouldn’t be able to name 10 Nas songs. Their opinions are irrelevant. Is all I’m saying.

Their opinions are relevant in this case, because they still get to vote. See?

10 K hours is a big song btw, that’s what I mean by cultural impact, the whole Jhene Aiko album is big amongst this eras black women.

What’s wrong with Victory, Like Smoke, Music, This Thing Of Ours, Mirage, have you heard these songs?

I don’t think there is a good matchup for Nas. The rappers that are on the same level as him have way more hits. But they’re the only people worthy of a matchup with him. He’s really unique becuz his best music isn’t his most well known music

Because you’re arguing the wrong thing, no one cares about hits when it comes to Nas, Jay Z himself has been trying to better Illmatic his whole career an album with no hits....

Memory Lane alone would garner a better reception than 99% of Jay Z hits.

Jay has way more club records than Nas breh. How can you seriously say he has less than 10?
:comeon:

No one ain’t trying to here Show Me What You Got or Empire State of Mind in a battle.

Not all hits are made equal.

This is a delusional ass post. Why can’t we be objective when discussing Nas? Come on now Memory Lane is a classic but to think it would get a better reception than 99% of Jays songs is pure nonsense. Your making it seem like the only people’s opinions that matter are die hard Nas fans

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
Nas doesn't stand a chance. It's not about who's the better MC, Hov is more popular and makes hits :yeshrug:
Idk if anyone ever could beat Drake in this format for example even tho he's nowhere near a top 10 MC
