Posted before I saw this. My point exactly. I don't even see them touching any mid '00's joints. There would be no point.

I could see them maybe playing their joints they did together or with Damian, Ross and one song with Kanye (we major vs paris) but thats about it.

If I’m Nas whether I go first or second I’m spending the first 20 seconds like this

*dead president’s hook* right off the bat. Nas can even say some shyt like “damn that sounds familiar.

*rap game/crack game hook*. “Damn that shyt sounds familiar too”

*who’s the best mc’s biggie, jayz or nas* on repeat 2-3 times and then go straight into nas is like.

Most of them haven’t even followed vs they’re just talking out their ass, you got one dude saying Run This Town would generate a better buzz than Jhene Aiko who is literally the princess of Rnb right now, they’re very out of touch with reality, vs has been very much a cultural thing it hasn’t been for everybody.

you’re out of touch if you think Jhene is the princess of anything right now

Yes and their most memorable songs both included multiple Nas songs, Nas ain’t Royce, Nas and Biggie were the wildcards in these battles.
RZA and Premo played they most recognizable songs period.

If it ends up being about party/club records, Jay is definitely going to win.
I also think there would be wildly divergent takes on the battle. Verbal Intercourse vs. What We Do being a good example of that.
I just don’t see how anyone could pick What We do over VI, but I agree with you that there would be people who would see it that way.
What We Do is beating Verbal Intercourse

The way this thread is going you'd think it happened

Jigga would win
He's more commercial than nas.
That should be a no brainer.

Jigga a biter anyway.
Nas makes realer rap music

OP your list is dead tho. 20 tracks vs 20 i dont think i could call it.

Question did you pick songs purely based on personal taste, you said their biggest songs but not specifically their biggest hits but how are you deciding what are their biggest songs.

Nah, Jay could play his it's just that Nas doesn't have any and in a 20 song battle volume and longevity matter.

Yes with some of them being the Nas songs, the best received songs mostly were the Nas and Biggue joints, people tend to forget in these arguments that Nas was a multi platinum selling artist in the 90’s, a lot of the popular rappers today aren’t or have not sold 30 m or so records like he has, he has enough fans and people who are aware of him, the same type of people that are watching these Versuz.

Post-03?
We've seen guys in these battles play songs past their relevance it just depends on what they feel is dope. You've got guys pulling unreleased stuff and features on other people's stuff so hed be fine

Jay's got bigger hits post 03 but I feel like the versuz audience is gonna lean into eachs early stuff anyway
