This song wouldn’t crack a top 50 best of Jay song list. It’s an Alicia Keys track above all else.

I agree, I wouldn’t have it in a set list. But these things are swayed by hits so :yeshrug:

I couldn’t image Jay playing this joint against in advisory like Nas. That weak shyt ain’t going to cut it. With their peers tuned in and industry heads nope Jay going to have to match quality with quality. Against a pop artist like Drake yes but against a rappers rapper like Nas no.

It's not an Alicia Keys track.
It's a Jay-z ft Alicia Keys track, It was written by two women who sent it to Roc Nation hoping Jay would hop on it. Jay didn't but Big Jon Platt who is Jay's breh convinced him that it was dope with some rework. Then Jay took it re-wrote and got Alicia to sing the hook instead of one of the initial writers.

:russ:Lost with Coldplay
:mjlol:Tom Ford
:bryan:Young Forever with Mr. Hudson

These dummies bringing up hits like these Jay records going to move people in a hip hop platform. This ain’t for casuals. This will be for the heads. None of that weak pop shyt jay get a pass for is going to work.
Tom Ford is bigger than any nas record ever and that’s not even a record for Hov’s 20 lol

Says who?

Cultural impact> Hits

The example of Shook ones pt 2 is a good one, I think more of you need to start tuning into this because most of you make comments which are way off the mark.
What Nas song has had a cultural impact that’s NOT on Illmatic and NOT named Ether?

I’m not handicapping Jay, he can play whatever song he wants.

And if this battle was to ever happen, I’m willing to bet Jay would rather play a single like where I’m from rather than hey papi or is that yo bytch.

Both in my top 3, and neither are number 3. No one is washing no one
The thing about Jay, he doesn’t have a lot of hard records like Where I’m From.
