I completely disagree. Nas wins by playing classic records, not hits.
Nas isn’t going to beat Jay at his own game.
It depends on how the verzuz stuff works, I haven’t really tuned into any of them but I’ve seen the threads. If the premise of the battles is shyt like crowd response, notoriety, recognizable songs then Nas is gonna be at a disadvantage

Yes Nas is gonna beat Jay if we’re talking strictly quality of the records. Nas can go about 150-200 songs deep with anyone

But playing Project Windows against Big Pimpin’ ain’t gon end well. Now Oochie Wally on the other hand...

This is a delusional ass post. Why can’t we be objective when discussing Nas? Come on now Memory Lane is a classic but to think it would get a better reception than 99% of Jays songs is pure nonsense. Your making it seem like the only people’s opinions that matter are die hard Nas fans

Bro you are delusional because you think only die hard fans have heard or acknowledge Illmatic, when so many casual fans have the opinion of Nas not being great apart from Illmatic. Yet I’m delusional for saying an album widely considered hip hops greatest album would generate better reception than Show Me What You Hot Little Mama Empire State of Mind and Rich Forever lmao.

You don’t understand music, must be some albums like films develop a cult following that catapults them above more commercially successful release at that time, Illmatic is an example, 700k followers in Premo and RZA Versuz I guarantee a fair majority of them have heard of Memory Lane or Ny State of Mind, I mean where do you think these sales come from? These are platinum selling rappers.

He wouldn’t even have to play those tho. And btw both of those were big singles especially Empire State of Mind. Just admit that YOU personally don’t wanna hear those
:heh:

No ones to hear those shyt just like they didn’t want to hear Gravel Pit or the Christina Aguilera song Premo played three best selling songs any of them played in the VS.

Nostalgia plays a part in these vs more than recent hits, try watch one that isn’t Luda or Nelly next time.

Then you’re out of touch yourself.

I’ll be that.

Still - if you put anyone of those songs up against any of those Jay features I posted,
somebody like me is gonna vote for the familiar, popular one...regardless of them being
“out of touch”.

This isn’t an album battle tho. It’s a song battle. Just becuz Illmatic was critically acclaimed doesn’t mean everybody heard. It took like two years for it to even go gold

It’s more than critically acclaimed at this point it’s seen as a staple of rap music, hence the biggest selling rapper in the world saying PAC was like Jesus Nas wrote the bible....

Memory Lane Ny and State Of Mind best most Jay hits, heck Nas biggest songs wont get the reception those two songs would get, it’s not about the Bilboard charts bro, the Vs does not include Taylor Swift Ed Sheeran or Dua Lipa for a reason.

Jay has way more moments that’ll bring nostalgia than Nas. Just be honest with yourself and stop letting your standom cloud your judgement
:mjlol:

From 98-03 alone Jay absolutely ran the club. In fact he might have been a part of more club bangers than any rapper in hip hop history

Why should I care what they think? Because they post about it on IG or Twitter? :mjlol:

you shouldnt care in your little bubble, but those casual fans will be the reason nas gets dusted :manny:

then there would be a 30 page thread on here right after crying about those same casual fans not giving a fukk about memory lane, i gave you power and other classic nas b sides songs.

mannie fresh (niche) vs scott scorch (mainstream) is actually a perfect example of how this battle would go.

Im a big Jay fan the only Stan here is you.

And more rubbish, many rappers have had more club bangers than Jay, Drake and Lil Wayne irrefutably is two, DmX Snoop Tupac Biggie can all be argued.

Yes the nostalgia of Sunshine:mjlol:, Nas had Hate me Now and Oochie Wally which was as big as any Jay Z song in the clubs from 98-03 also, lest you forget?
