Go to therapy. I don't know why you guys bring this shyt here. What have you seen on the coli that told you it was a mature or safe space?

Sometimes when your mental health is in the toilet you become programmed to having negative thought patterns. You and a lot of people that post in that state express a level of self loathing. Truthfully your perception of reality might be warped due to a depressive state of mind. Life isn't that bad. Indulging those feelings will only keep you in a perpetual pity party.

A harsh reality of being in the dumps is that it drags on people around you. You soon realize that your friends might not be the right people to get support from. You might be bringing people around you down. Don't be mad if they turn away. Most people are there for the good times. Very few will weather the storms with you and even then you can't have it as an expectation.

Unburden yourself with a professional if friends and family don't work. By the way you are describing your life it is clear that you have a bad self image. People might not want to keep reassuring you and doing some of the things that a professional might do. Sometimes they interpret your struggle as just complaining. Learn who you can't talk to. Cant get in-depth with everyone and can't expect everyone to take a keen interest in your life. That's reality. All friends are not equal. Furthermore there's a cap to how much you can bring to people over time. At a point it is selfish to not get professional help and expect your friends to be stepping in where therapy should come in.

Depression sucks and it has a vicious cruel way to making you appear selfish to those around you which lands some in a worse place as they push people close to them away while they are trying to feel better. People want to share in the good times not the bad. Only loved ones will truly cary that with you and even then to a point.

I'm not trying to be harsh just real. If you don't see a therapist and keep moving through that clouded outlook you will push people further away.

Life's a bytch, but you gotta keep on. Perseverance is what makes us stronger. Positive thinking is needed; Change your mentality. Don't let outside forces tear your soul apart. If people turned on you you gotta look at why; is it because of something you did? If it's because of their own expectations and selfishness, fukk them. I thrive on being the underdog, and even if I'm not I always see myself as one.

Keep on going and fight on. :salute:

but on some real shyt - being a black man is like being a human Ferrari.

We got the greatest human vessel available.

Your situation can change within 24 months.

With the internet - you could become a multi-millionaire in a short time.

Look on the bright side.... find what your talents are & then exploit them.

Depression isn't part of the black man's swag.... we supposed to overcome and conquer.

Good luck bro.
This post was about as useful as a pyramid scheme proposal

I can’t fathom how any one Black can be depressed.

It’s a blessing to be a part of this people.

Take your ass to the gym and quit crying nikka.

Maybe it's because you don't view depression like an illness. That's an outdated perspective and why I told OP to see a therapist. Most people are too ignorant to talk to about mental health. They act like it's a choice

I’ve done absolutely nothing. I try to keep people happy even when I’m not. This is me being accountable. I’m just a nikka people love to hate.

I don’t vent to or burden my “friends”. They’re fake fakkits that play that passive aggressive plotting shyt when they’re around their friends but kiss my ass when we’re alone

I was with you until the end about being millionaire and saying black men’s swag, and depression ain’t part of that. That become a millionaire talk is one in a million and not realistic.

And depression hits all races and it’s a chemical imbalance. I can try, pray, exercise, smoke weed, drink, fukk all night. But If I don’t take my 4 psych meds, it will lead to another suicide attempt and maybe a successful one. I have bipolar and borderline personality. I was born this way and been on psych meds since 9 years old in 1991. I was trying to jump off 6 story parking garages in second grade to kill myself. I’ve spent months in psych units after thinking I could do without the meds. Then someone find me with a garden hose going into my car window hooked up connected to my exhaust. So some black men get it and it’s better to address it than act like we’re above it. Not trying to trip on you or be long winded that just caught me.
Extremely important post. Dapped and repped. Black people have stigmatized mental illness for far too long. Appreciate you sharing your truth.

I know part of that feeling. I was on a years long side quest trying to help others out, family obligations, had to cut toxic people out and lost my physique etc. Then it felt like me trying to get back on my purpose was another side quest. Then it was just side quest after side quest going in circles. Felt like I was in the damn Odyssey, felt so much relieve when I finally got back on track.

you gotta brainwash yourself. And realize the fukkers slandering us have no credibility. How do people who have been lying for 400 have credence? The answer is they don’t. There’s saying called don’t stare into the abyss because it stares back into you or don’t spend too much time fighting demons lest you become one. You probably been hearing the lies too much and your subconscious is beefing with the lie even though you know it’s lies and it’s surfacing through what your feeling. IMMERSE yourself somewhere else. We are living representations of our environment.

At the same time, you have to study your problem or what’s holding you back, so you can fight against it properly. Information is the greatest weapon, armor and comforter. The more of it you have, the more advantages you have in life
Damn.

I feel cursed. I can never win it just seems like most else are happy go lucky while there’s something wrong with me. I never seem to get the benefit of the doubt others get. The people around me’s successes confirm the feeling that there’s something wrong with me. I’ve always been counted out and I continue to keep failing every step of the way. The same spoiled people I validated turn around to shyt on me when I needed help.

I see you expressing how others perceive you and others have failed you. What do you like about yourself and your life? Cant be nothing and it can't all be on the people around you.

Again I'm gonna be harsh. You are deep in the self pity territory. That shyt won't help you at all. Saying shyt like you cursed and the world is against you basically is not conducive to anything positive. A therapist would help you figure out why you feel this way. And also that it's not entirely true or all bad to be here in this life. To continue talking the way you are in this thread is not helping you at all because it comes of like you just want pity not help.
