It won’t be long before decisions are made and something has to go or be severely altered. I honestly don’t see Inside still being around 5 years from now
House of Highlights' YT Channel has 17M subscribers. 17M!!!!

They could easily stream the show. That's a huge asset that Warner Brothers/Turner has.

ESPN PICKED UP THE SHOW
SO THEY WONT HAVE TO
COMPETE WITH THE SHOW...

WARNER RETAINED NBA CONTENT
AND HIGHLIGHT RIGHTS DUE
TO THE SETTLEMENT
SO THEY MOST LIKELY WERE GOING
TO DO EXACTLY WHAT @FAH1223 SAID.

ESPN WILL MAKE IT WORK BECAUSE
WARNER HAS THOSE CONTENT RIGHTS
FOR THE NEXT 11 YEARS

THE SHOW WASNT GOING ANYWHERE
WHICH IS WHY BARKLEY DECIDED
TO STAY AFTER THEY LOST THE NBA DEAL.

"Barkley said on the Dan Le Batard Show podcast today that he left a minimum of $100 million “on the table” to stay with Turner Sports. His decision to remain with Warner Bros. Discovery’s sports division came after TNT was left out of the NBA’s 11-year media rights deal."

SVP’s wannabe down ass is so overrated. He would have been a C-tier anchor in ESPN’s heyday. He is benefiting off a completely depleted bench at that network. To think he has the cachet to make the goat sports show move to espn2 is beyond laughable. But that network can’t shoot straight so I expect them to do some weird shyt like this and force SAS and/or the Nigerian chick on there with the og crew.

Yeah and Warner is still running NBA digital and NBA TV for the next 5 years.

House of Highlights / Bleacher Report is like 25M subscribers on YouTube put together.

it’s almost certainly going to be an espn app exclusive to drive engagement there. they are making a huge bet on that service. it will give the Inside crew the freedom to keep the production as loose as they did on TNT since it will be a streaming exclusive. for Finals, and other big events they can flex them to abc/espn as needed (or do something similar to the McAfee show where the show starts on cable but transitions to streaming for the final hour )

The first point has been done before previously, but you're fukking with someone's bread at that point and creating another Nichols/Taylor situation. You also end up creating a situation where multiple shows are competing against each other especially considering the plan is to still keep NBA Countdown. The easier answer would be to find a way to "promote" SVP, which would make the timeslot open.

To the second one, even if they wanted to replace local news they couldn't because of contract stipulations.

I do see why Kenny Smith was apprehensive about the transition and saying how they wished that the four were involved in the negotiations instead of others doing it for them.
isn’t SAS moving away from heavy NBA coverage and wants to get closer to NFL? maybe that’s partially due to the Inside crew coming onboard. I’d expect him to be there for a Finals coverage, etc still but maybe just let the Inside crew handle the game of the week shyt they want

I know it was mentioned, but I haven't seen anything concrete saying that he would. The closest I saw was that they'd loop him in on other Disney/ABC proejcts under his new deal.

I just don't see how they can all co-exist even if you put them on the app, which would create even more issues IMO considering they wouldn't be bound by the same ad restrictions as television.
