literally lost 12 pounds in the span of 6 weeks

i usually have my eating window open from 12 to 8, eat 2 big meals, [breakfast and dinner] mix with whey protein shakes, and snacking on almonds
drink nothing but water, tea, and black coffee

mix that with some moderate weightlifting and cardio im feeling good brehs

this is gonna be my lifestyle switch, its been relatively easy for me
i encourage some of you to try it

watch some Hodgetwin fasting advice too to get you properly set up

Fasting is the GOAT protocol for everything. Weight loss, detox, health, muscle preservation, muscle building, mental clarity, appreciation of food more, euphoric and closer to god. Welcome to the brotherhood :salute:

Once I get past 50(God willing), one meal a day

Been doing this since the beginning of the year, my fasting varies though, 16/8, 17/7, 18/6. Cut weight, leaned out and gained strength.

Intermittent fasting is the GOAT. Lost 40 pounds from last year doing exactly what the OP did. It's so easy to lose weight using this method.

If you not intermittent fasting, you slipping

IF is definitely the truth. Been on it since late March. Went from 237 to 206, as of this morning. Got crazy lean and I'm gaining strength as well.

How do y'all set up your calories and macros?

My TDEE is 2388. I was thinking of eating that amount on training days and eating 1900 on non-training days. 40/30/30 macros split. What do y'all do?

I train 6 days a week so my caloric intake is the same Monday through Saturday. I train fasted so my first meal of the day usually doesn't come until around lunch time. The meal I eat before I begin my fast again is the largest. I actually consume less calories, on my non training day (Sunday) not more. I want to make sure I'm always in a deficit to the maximum extent possible. I can't give you particulars on specific macros because I've never needed to delve that deep into it to be honest.

I don't track calories or macros but I don't eat like shyt either. I usually eat my first meal around 1030-11am after I workout, drink a protein smoothie and eat my last meal around 430-5. I drink hella water during my fast. I sleep better and I wake up feeling fukking great. You give your body time to digest and process food and you feel rejuvenated.

1 meal a day, every day. When I first tried it back in 2012, I lost 30lbs in slightly under two months. Activity wise all I did was skip rope and body weight exercises. I wasnt focused on gettin bigger. All I did was eat my 1 meal, fast and drank a shyt ton of water (at least a gallon) and repeat. My ability to eat large amounts decreased dramatically with every passing week; It's like the moment food gets into my stomach, my body is like "nikka we good", and the thought of eating anything else genuinely disgusts me. When youre doing 1meal a day though, You have to fall back on the 'train like a mad man' mentality. You dont need the added metabolic stress of punishing your body. Walking, HIIT and calisthenics are good enough. You dont have to treat you exercise routine like a cotdamn 'Rocky' montage. The weight will melt off in short time. Be patient and come to terms with the concept of less is more.

Oh and all that "safe amount of weight loss" talk is a bunch of bullshyt at least in this context. The body will lose at the rate it is most comfortable with. I simply started 23 hr fasting with the mindset of "keep doing it til i see something change", I wasnt expecting such quick changes, But It happened. That was also around the time i started getting facial hair in areas it was previously either sparse or non existent. Hormones are key.

When you enter a fasting state, the body will ramp up HGH production. I should have been more clearly, HGH or fasting doesn't built muscle like androgens but HGH(Which is released at most when fasting) actually creates new muscle cells. So over time maybe like 1-2 with intermittent you will actually built quality pure lean muscle. Again, natural HGH production is not the same as HGH injections, but you will see results in it. People who have ran HGH cycles without synthetic horomones, have noticed within 6 months gain in lean muscle mass with additional new lean tissue gains. HGH is the horomone that has taken bodybuilding to sizes never seen before. Now HGH with low dose test is magical and which I expect all NBA players are running these days,

You should read the Warrior diet book and all the research from Ori Hofmekler about HGH, Fasting and its ability to develop lean muscle tissue.

Depends on where you fall on the issue but the other side is that the purported and increases relative to HGH aren't as substantial as people who endorse it would have you believe. Definitely not the "best" way to do it.

Either way if it works for some people great but none of this is worth switching to if it doesn't fit your goals or life style.

I've used IF and still do on certain days so I'm not against it by any means.

Can someone help me get started?

I need to cut about 20 lbs and 13% bf

I'm scared I'm gonna be hungry as hell
It's very easy

- First of all skip breakfast. If you find yourself feening start your day with a cup of coffee
- Eat big meals. 2 or three in your window should do it
- Choose high volume low calorie snacks. I'm on a cut now... initially when I got hungry I'd have a little fun size candy or some chips or something. No more. Now I just do veggies... sweet peppers, baby carrots, that kind of shyt.
- Probably the most important thing is to decouple eating and pleasure, and learn to eat towards a goal. Obviously you're not a machine so you can plan some indulgences in, but if you are good 6 days out of the week you can do a cheat meal on the 7th

I'm cutting now and leaner than I've ever been so I'm having to dig a little deeper and eat cleaner.... but w/o IF I'd have stalled out long ago. I've been doing IF for years and its definitely helped me maintain my weight and cut down more reliably
