The thing about a 9-5, especially for blacks working around a lot of whites, you can have a lot of time fly by with that "it'll get better" mentality. And for us, the option to just quit isn't always there so you can almost get trapped at a job if you not really trying to get up out of there expeditiously. So yeah it can be a drain on you. :mjcry:. I know personally, a lot of older blacks around me weren't pushing that business owner shyt, most if not all of my older family members were like "get you a job at such and such (a white owned business/corp). :yeshrug:I don't know how it is for other people in other cities. Just telling my own experience.

As someone that has only worked factory/cleaning jobs; anyone that complains about office jobs is a bytch low key

You get to sit down in an air conditioned office, listen to music, take an hour for lunch, get home and not be physically exhausted, you get to wake up at 7 or 8 instead of 5 or 6, and most likely make more money

I paid my dues (working night shifts, weekends, manual labor(construction)) and it gave me a unique POV to work life.

If you love what you do, the hours don't matter as much, but if you hate your job and see no benefit of it, then you will get drained quickly. I hate the politics of work, but I love being in the tech field (but I wanted it since I was in elementary school lol)...I am using the money from work just as capital for my business, so I look to eventually get into a consultant role...

New grads are pissing and moaning since they are working jobs they didn't prep for in college and hating it + being broke. I'd be mad too...
