Is A+ cert pretty useless in 2019?

I used a flash card app for those network ports and they are VERY IMPORTANT. I know there were a few questions on both exams referring to them. Not just asking the number either but implementing it in some work-based question.
If you are moving on to Network+ might as well learn them now. I worked on the flash cards for about 3 hours straight til I knew them all. And I still know them now
Im currently studying too and plan on taking the exam around December so im fully prepared. Im even considering building a pc from scratch to have the hands on experience most people talk about. Like most, i was using the messer videos but caught a sale on Udemy for the mike myers course for the low and i also have the book. Any suggestions on practice test with realistic questions that will be on the exam?

, only portion so far I'm struggling with, yea like some of the brehs are saying I feel like the test is gonna be totally different than how these Messner videos are preparing you, practice tests & etc seem more logical, I'm gonna keep with the videos but search for some other stuff, the LibGen links I will look into
It's a certain way Comptia likes to prose their questions it's weird, you have to get used to it. It's a lot of scenario-based questions. You should know each technology is and what it's used for along with how to use it. with that said you can download this pdf go to the second to last page to signup for the online version of these practice exams you get access for a year.

Mike Myers practice tests on Udemy are good too I used them to pass the 901/902
Keep in mind there is so much they want you to know. If you're like me you have to touch something to learn it.
- It's good to crack open a computer(buy a very cheap tower or laptop off of amazon or craigslist) or after POST access the bios change settings notice the behavior the computer after the changes in the bios change the settings back etc...
- Install Windows or Linux on a virtual box or the used PC you bought.
- open up cmd or powershell and learn the commands they want you to know. This will help with the simulation questions they ask at the beginning of the exam.
For reals. So much info I can’t retain it all. Dude is boring as fukk. Mike Meyers on udemy is actually entertaining
thanks for this information breh, im gonna check out some of these practice test in a few. I honestly dont know whats the best cheap motherboard i can buy off amazon to start my build, dont really wanna waste any money just to practice.
No problem, you don't have to go out and buy a motherboard it was just a suggestion if you want to touch some hardware and get a feel of what things are.
If I can you some advice? It would be don't sell yourself short. You started out with a goal to get certified with Comptia A+ do it!!. I know the journey might not look pretty from your point of view. I know cuz I started out tying to get my A+ in 2015 and I was doubting myself trying to learn everything underneath the sun. All cuz I was scared to fail. Looking at all of the objectives for the A+ had me running from what I needed to do. Fast forward 4 YEARS later and on the heals of them retiring the exam that I was fearful of failing. I started to get serious and passed both exams in the first quarter of this year, then went on to get my Net+. I currently studying for my Sec+. I wasted all of that time in my case being fearful of failing. It was my own fault I was self-sabotaging myself looking to put the blame on something else. "Oh I can't learn this technology until I learn this first" or "I still got time it doesn't expire until 3 years from now"
Don't be like me and put off what you can do now for later. You'll just end up wasting TIME and MONEY
This is great to hear, honestly I'm kinda in the same situation as breh, a lot of this seems extremely overwhelming and so much to learn, also an issue is I have a full time job rn and so tired when I get home I skip some days I should be actually watching the videos + like I said earlier messier videos are starting to have too much info on the slideshow + he just boring, alot of these advices brehs are saying in here are so helpful tho
This is the 2nd time I've heard people saying take apart/configure an actual computer, how would one do this, like buy an old computer?
I say this cuz that's what I did. While I was trying to learn everything under the sun, I built the cheapest hackintosh PC from tonymac86, I could find. I never had built a PC from scratch. I thought I knew a lot before I tried building that hackintosh I didn't know shyt
. I struggled with drivers and not knowing what terms meant. Looking back I should have just made a regular windows PC. I learned a lot tho, I eventually got the hackintosh to post and boot into El Captian for about a month only for it to break when an update was applied.
I said fukk it and went to windows and instantly ran into the BSD(blue screen of death) I was ready to throw everything in the bushes. I kept troubleshooting and figured out it was bad drivers but I didn't quit. It was a good teachable moment tho. Depending on how powerful your current PC is you can do a lot of the software portion of the test on a VM and take snapshots to roll the state back to a clean install in case you break something,I understand you don't want to waste time. Like someone said earlier Mike Myers courses(Udemy 10 dollar course get the test that he sells for an even 20 dollars) is more upbeat. With professor Messor you have to be in the mood to listen to him,
how many times it take you to pass each test
I passed them all on the first attempt (the first exam I bearly got by after I figured out the test format and stopped being nervous I was good). I received vouchers from school so I didn't want to mess that up. I studied my ass off because my professor was looking out for me by giving me vouchers for each cert.
Im not good at school shyt. All these videos are giving me anxiety. I think if I don’t pass the 1001 on first try I’m gonna give up
