Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Yes, King was a ridiculously high usage rate player that somehow couldn't average 5apg in a single season during his career, despite how much he had the ball, just like Melo.

If you're going to be a ball dominant SF, you better get me some assists as well. Basically all the SF's that dominated the ball like Melo were Nique, King and Gervin, guys who posted big numbers but could never lead their teams to titles.

Right now Melo career is either going to be like B. King or Dirks

All depends if he wins a ring

I'm a Knicks fan, but if we don't compete for a top seed in this upcoming season, he needs to be out. Messing around with the Knicks he'll never win shyt

Dirk Nowitzki did and won an NBA champioship.

Dirk has never had trash teammates. Every team he's been on, except for last year has had legitimate 20ppg scorers. He's played with Finley, Nick, Jamison, Employee #8, Stack, JET, Monta Ellis..dudes that could all get their shot anytime they wanted it. Hell, his first finals trip was an all ISO team.

You know SF doing everything is fairly new? Dr J, Adrian Dantley Elgin Baylor...these were not assist men. That's what your PG is for. Even someone like Mash wasn't racking up assists til his career was over. Like I've always said, Melo is an old school SF, so put him with a PG or legitimate scoring option. Chauncey Billups averaged a career high with Melo and made WCF.

What does 'explosiveness' mean to the 2 of you and have either of you ever actually seen Bernard King play?

1. Meaning a better and more dynamic scorer/player in a physical sense.

2. Yes, I've seen him play in NY, NJ (1993) and Washington, but not at Utah, NJ or GS. I'm :flabbynsick: breh, but not that :flabbynsick:

Bernard's injuries robbed him and the fans of a dynamic career, when he was on he was on, when he was off, he still was on. What could've been. Despite missing so many games he still dropped over 19,500 points and had a year of 33ppg in the mid 80's, and 28ppg in 1991, the year before he was forced to retire. Boy was great.

We're not in the old school anymore, Pippen established that mutli-dimensional SF's were the future :yeshrug: Also, you named 1 dude that won a title, and he averaged 5.5apg in the ABA.

Today, if you're going to build a team around an SF they have to be able to do 2 of 3 things at a high level -

Defend
Score
Play-make

Melo only does one of those things at a high level, just like Nique, King, Gervin, Glenn Robinson, Dantley and Mashburn.

Name another star player in the last 10-15 years who played with less talent around him than Carmelo Anthony.

:jbhmm:
No excuse breh. Every superstar in the NBA makes it to the postseason consistently. Just a few years ago they were a 3 seed in the East. Jason Kidd retired and the team hasn't been right since. And the next year it was basically the same team. That says more about Melo than anything. And for the record he had mad talent around him in Denver

Chandler and Kidd were two huge pieces for both the Mavs and the Knicks. Kidd retired and Chandler lost interest...since then it's been a mess. Everyone also overrates Melo as a player anyways.

His problem is that he's played his entire prime in an era of trancendent talents who are just better than him. There's no shame in that

But half the teams in the NBA make the playoffs. If you cant get there in the East and your one of the faces of the league...

I dont understand, you are comparing careers with this question or time spent on a certain team? There are plenty of stars in the last 15 years who played with worse talent than Melo

In fact Melo had decent teammates to go for deep playoff runs, come on

He had Marcus Camby, Kenyon Martin, Nene, Allen Iverson as his teammates at one time. Then this Chauncey Billups trade helped them reach the conference finals. 2012 season when they landed Tyson Chandler was a pretty dope team + bench,

Allen Iverson for most of his career had worse teammates, billy king couldnt build team around AI for shyt.

T-Mac in orlando could never play with grant hill and he was dealing with garbage teammates

Marbury was playing with garbage in NY

Early 00s Vince had no talent around him

pre-KG trade Paul Pierce was playing with garbage

Bron before leaving for Miami had no legit supporting cast

And the list goes on...
