Yeahhhhh you've been missing out on conversations lately on this site and over the years as a lot of people at the time would have told you that Milwaukee and Utah overpaid for those players. Hell, a lot of posters shyt talked and clowned Holiday literally until the moment he won the ring in Milwaukee. A lot on this site were literally making fun of Minnesota for all they gave up to get Gobert and you can look up that thread to see for yourself.

I defend Gobert on this site and I even I would tell you that Minnesota gave up too much to get him as all they did was increased the asking price for other players around the league going forward.

I'm sure I'm missing plenty of conversations.

I'm asking why there was a thread like this for Mitchell and there wasn't one for Gobert/Jrue.

If the barometer for getting moved for significant picks is being a superstar/being top 20 as this thread suggests, but guys like Gobert and Jrue can and have gotten moved for that kind of package, why is it an issue for Mitchell to get moved? Especially now, when the Gobert deal set that market to begin with?

I don't buy it being curiosity and good old discussion, particularly when it's the Knicks that are rumored to get him. This seems like typical lol Knicks shyt.

Saying he's overrated and calling him a volume shooting midget that's a turnstile on defense aren't the same to me.

But it is what it is bruh. I'll just go back to my Knick threads and act like I don't see these obvious narratives on display. :russ:

For someone that whines about me bringing up defense, you sure keep bringing it up as the basis for your arguments as well :mjlol:

Harden is not the same player offensively, but his passing is all worldly enough that he’s elevating everyone around him. Mitchell isn’t that type of player to do that.
U being a hypocrite

U ranking nikkas that are on the same level as Donovan defensively who have never defended unlike Donovan who was a solid defender coming into the league with a reputation as a defender out of college

Mitchell elevates his team as well through self created offense and kick out passing.

Harden is also a bottom defender and is washed as a scorer not to mention he is a playoff ghost.

This site is shameless as fukk bruh.

The current trade market and the teams GMs request dictates a team "giving up their future" for dude, it's not "people".

Gobert went for 4 picks and swaps but I don't see is he top 20 threads.

Bucks gave up 4 draft picks and swaps for fukkin Jrue Holiday but he didn't have a is he top 20 thread.

Yall so fukking weird bruh.

Take your meds bro

Edit: I ain’t mean to quote this 1

the him not being worth it has more to do with Ainge being a complete ball buster when it comes to trades. He wants to fleece the knicks but has no fukking leverage. Ain’t no way spida is playing tank commander.

He might be trying to fleece, but that's just the market given the Gobert trade. Market dictates this shyt, yet it becomes a conversation around how trash he is and how dumb the Knicks would be to do it, despite being the only team that can accommodate the market price; and if they don't do it, the conversation becomes lol Knicks, they think their young trash picks/players are better than Mitchell. It's FOX news level of juelzing that's just corny.

It's disingenuous and fortunately we have p*ssy/conservative front office that won't oblige. But the conversation around it still feels very disingenuous.

I was never ranking them specifically by defensive impact! The premise of OP thread was speaking towards them overall as a player and not because one particular aspect :mjlol:

I was specifically referring to Mitchell’s flaws as a player, but I can do that for the other guys on the list if it will make you feel better.

Ant? Nope
KAT? Nope
Murray? Nope
Harden? Current form Harden, nope
Derozan? Long term, yes
Lavine? Nope
Ingram? Nope
Zion? Nope
Lamelo? Nope
Beal? Debatable, but nope

His offense isn't all worldy enough to mask the fact that he's a below average defender and average as a defense. Even a poor defender like Trae Young is at least elite on offense and as a passer to help mask those deficiencies. I would take Jrue Holiday over Mitchell. Before dudes try and insist otherwise, Jrue Holiday outplayed Middleton this past season and you know damn well that you would take him over Mitchell.

The advanced analytics from this site say that Mitchell is the 11th best offensive player in the NBA.

Donovan Mitchell - Stats & Analytics | CraftedNBA

He's def a better player than Ant Edwards and a lot of those other guys you mentioned.

We have seen since 2017
What is Mitchell good at besides inefficient volume chucking? Dude has some Westbrook in him. Wall's getting his legs back and will show his superiority on the Clippers if he stays healthy.
