You have to wonder why hip hop not only accepted but embraced a correctional officer. Even nas the king of irony went from making one love to collaborating with rosé :what:

Hip hop accepted Rick Ross cuz he was making great music. Everything from "Port of Miami" to "Deeper than Rap" is upper echelon.

Everything? Brah. :mjfoh:Please list songs in between those albums that would be considered "great" outside of hustling.

I think he has two separate audiences, because like the above poster said his shows are filled with young people. But I personally know a lot of brothers mid 30's and up that are out of tune with commercial rap, but f^ck with Rozay. I don't know many other older rappers who do as well with fans in their age group. It's hard to pinpoint, but I think he has a cool blaxploitation hero vibe to him. At the end of the day his name might not fit on a list with Biggie, KRS, Kane, Rakim, Slick Rick, Nas, Jay, Tupac, Scarface, Cube, Em, etc...
But when you talk about Shaft, Superfly, Dolemite, The Mack.... you can see how he's channeling a lot of that shyt, and why older brothers might enjoy his material.

great post right here

Probably top 5 worst posts of all time tbh :ehh: In fact I'm negging you for having such low standards. Nothing personal :yeshrug:

Ross has the most diverse age range of fans of any rapper. My 50 year old uncle's a fan(he hates most of today's hip hop but loves Ross), I'm 20 and I'm a fan, and my 2 nephews(12 and 14) are fans.
