What does any of this have to do with how they worked?

Again, what does this have to do with how they worked?

We're talking about work ethic. Performance and impact.

And there is a difference between productive and unproductive work. Just because millennials feel like they work more doing menial task outside of the job like answering emails doesn't mean they are being productive or that what they are doing is impactful.

And boomers not working outside of the job or working late hours is a lie. Yeah, maybe if you were doing manual labor. But if you were in a high-powered profession, you were definitely working long hours. The boomer partners at most firms that I worked for are the first in the office and the last to leave.

My grandparents and their siblings were corporate executives. All of them. The first generation of blacks to enter into corporate America. So I have that vantage point. Seeing how they worked and hearing what they had to endure, their work ethic absolutely eclipses ours. And hearing their stories or discussing work related issues with them, I would not have lasted long working under them. They were perfectionist and demanded 110% from those they managed.

1. I bolded your reply because your viewpoint is already skewed. If you come from a line of executives the YES, you would, personally, observe people working a lot harder. Most boomers did NOT work this way. Most PEOPLE in general don't work that way. Also, remove your anecdotal evidence of your black families rise in corporate America. Of course they worked harder...they HAD to. That or crumble under the weight of White America's scrutiny of Black people in the field. How you don't have the context for this is somewhat baffling.

2. Millennials of ALL rank and file are working more. Doubly so when working remote.

3. Millenials have made work itself a lifestyle. Blurring the lines between when work stops and life begins. Boomers didn't really have the tech to do that. Not until the 90's and even then it wasn't intrinsic to their entire generation.

4. There's no such thing as meaningless work. I would think the descendant of executives would understand such a concept. :martin:
A errant email can kill a deal or bring in a big contract. A phone call can be the beginnings of a promotion. If those "menial" tasks don't get done, the big ones fall apart or never start. Just because YOU don't see don't mean it's not vital to the lifeblood of a company.

Why work when you can binge netflix shows and movies all day :mjlit:

And a lot of these people would be going back to work for less pay.

They making more money sitting they ass at home and covid free!

Wish my ass was getting paid $600+ a week at 18. I was working at Target for 8.25 an hour, bi-monthly checks working full time was looking pitiful.

This is actually false, most people from my gen and the next gen are actually working harder than ever. What they don't get is they are taking their labor elsewhere, or finding different avenues to make money.

Flipping things
Trading/Investing
Social Media influencer/Twitch/Youtube/Instagram/Twitter
People switching their careers to IT
etc

We have so many resources nowadays to learn other things right over the internet and had much more freedom last year to pick up new skills and realize that our time is valuable here on this earth. Companies exploited us, and had us living paycheck to paycheck, working multiple jobs, or long hours just to pay rent and other expenses.

Boomers had a work ethic that the preceding generations haven't been able to really match. Think it was a visceral response to the Great Depression.
:mjlol:nope. The generations before them definitely worked harder and with more challenges. Boomers are a huge reason we are in the place we are in because of the self serving attitudes and eagerness to work for white America. We trying to reverse that. And millennials and after have had enough

Every article will tell you that Americans are some of the most overworked and career focused people in the world.

The way we work compared to Europeans isn’t even close. Good luck getting a euro company to do shyt from May - September, every one of them takes a 3 week sabbatical like it’s their job to vacation :comeon:

Smerconish is saying this because low wage jobs are staying unfilled after the pandemic, because after hitting the pause button for a year
people realized they aren’t gonna fukk w/ a job that pays them single digits per hour and doesn’t offer any type of benefits or opportunity for advancement. Smerconish and companies like McDonald’s can fukk right off if they think that’s a sign of American work ethic, eat a dikk and pay people better

The Japanese do

The Japanese work harder at school.

And also they as a country are having a huge issue with re-population because too many of the men are sexless and ok with not having female relations. The % of men there who end up living w/ their parents or alone is nuts. And it’s not because they’re too focused on their job.

Americans combine career ambition w/ p*ssy gettin :myman:

Nothing to do with people not wanting to work. It’s the incentive to work. After this pandemic people see through the bullshyt. The youngsters aren’t so happy to work their ass off for the rest of their lives for pennies on the dollars so corporations and executives can hog all of the money and in turn call them lazy. :yeshrug:

I’m actually surprised it took a pandemic for this shyt to start happening. You got people out here working sixty hours a week and can’t afford a decent spot to live. Work ethic itself ain’t the problem. It’s the reward for the average worker isn’t there.

These companies gotta pay people to interview because their actual jobs aren’t paying living wages and people would be better off on the government’s tit.

I disagree! Some people don’t wanna work! Some people are lazy! Also, it is a given that people don’t wanna work for low wages. Who does? But, if you can live off of unemployment and stimmy checks vs. having to physically get up, burn gas and take direction from people all day, then of course many people will take the first option.

However, at the end of the day, most people need to work in order to survive. If wage is an issue, then go to college or a trade school and gain the knowledge and skills to earn a higher wage or start your own business and work your ass off until you make a decent or better wage.

Work super hard for someone to make them wealthy and die on the job to be replaced in few days breh :banderas:

And all they do is put up a picture of you and say RIP he was a hard worker... Blah blah blah nikkas never cared. No one gives a fukk.

Nikkas saying hey I'm employer of the month /week blah blah

Same nikkas get no raise or bonus. All they get is verbal accolades with no monetary value behind it.

This shyt wild.
