Way too early to say the window's closed on the Phillies.

They have been ravaged by injuries this season and are still relatively close in the Wild Card race (only 9 GB).

Howard's contract is outlandish, but let's not act like he's not going to give that offense a boost when he returns.

I wouldn't put money on them making the playoffs this season, but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if they did.

I agree with the posters saying Rollins' contract is atrocious. He's been awful-mediocre since his MVP season and there was no reason to give him that much money (like Howard). Saying he's been a top-10 SS in the past 4 years isn't a tribute to him, but shows how weak the SS position is now.

rollins contract is perfectly reasonable. he's on pace for 5+ WAR this season. He probably only needs around 3 WAR a year to justify that contract.

I find that gif extremely disrespectful to David Ortiz, whose OPS at the age of 36 is currently higher than any of Howard's OPS numbers for the last five seasons
