yes, and before you put coding programs in you have to get the kids interested in learning.
Mad kids are interested in learning but they don't have the resources available to them that other schools (cough cough...white/rich/public/suburban) schools have and due to that, we have so many black kids that would be into that but just don't get into it.

:comeon:

Right...the only thing keeping them from performing well at their low rated schools are the lack of resources, and that's also the reason they aren't interested in learning.

Kids that are interesting in learning will usually find a way to learn, there are some kids that live in complete shytholes where there is no library and no access to the internet but this is not all(or maybe even most) poor kids and but I'm not just talking about black kids that grow up in poverty, i think many(if not most) black kids of all classes don't really care about learning. Many kids have access to a device that allows them to surf the internet, many kids have all of the information in the world at their finger tips but it doesn't get used for anything productive. I'm all for looking at the environment and school funding but we can't get retarded with it and pretend that the child or teen has little to no control over how well they do in school or what they know.

Agreed. As parents we also need to stop being too preoccupied with some unnecessary shyt and expose our children to science, technology, art, architecture etc and encourage their curiosity and their creativity Got to stop letting kids sit for hours in front of the TV 'cuz we can't spare an hour or two a couple of times a week to communicate with and teach our children.

Very true, black parents care about how well their children do in school and they tell them 'do well in school' over and over again but they must do more than that.

The tech industry is anti female and anti "minotities"

shyt... Look at he PayPal mafia web that pretty much spawned EVERYTHING:

HOWEVER, do not think you cannot get in and make it in the tech because you are black, we can get in there.

My older sister is an awkward nerdy coder and she is doing okay.

When I walk by these little boutique tech start ups around the bay, I am seeing more and more nerdy black girls representing :ehh:
