That "he makes his teammates better" narrative was at FULL TILT for Nash those years
Actually could get on board with that since he's one of the greatest floor generals ever and the team went from a bottom tier offense to best in the league with his addition. The issue came when people argued he was
more valuable to a teams success than Kobe, Dirk or Garnett, which is insane.
Problem I have with Rose/Iverson's narratives is that they were given all the credit for the success of their teams who were "miraculously" winning games despite having little to no talent around them. Little to no mention that the Bulls had one of the best defenses of the modern era + top 2 in rebounding at the time and those 76ers played great D as well. Neither Rose or Iverson were anchors or high impact contributors to the efforts of their respective defenses, who would've still been great without them on the team.
Well, if you agree there exists a narrative that plausibly is written.
Again, like I said,.....
When, it came to ivo.
Ivo was playing out of position and playing in a system where socially he was at odds with the coach.
Plus, a changing of the guard admin wise as well.
With d rose you are talembout an org based and welled in purposeful mediocrity.
Becoming the best team in the league record wise.
So, I don't agree with you being negative towards Ai and rose as MVP.
As, it does not take into account the overall full scope and narrative of the parties involved from the winners to the people passed over.

I don't see how any of that about Iverson has to do with him being the best player in the league though. Not a matter of social/organization issues or being out of position, Shaq was straight up the most dominant player in the game from '00-02 with his only remote competition being Tim Duncan who (arguably) overtook him in '03, not Iverson.
This organization "welled in purposeful mediocrity" fielded one of the best defenses of the modern era of basketball thanks to the brilliance of Tom Thibodeau. You cannot mention the success of that Bulls team without referencing the actual best performing unit on the squad by a huge margin, the defense. Which Rose did not have significant influence over. Unlike LBJ or Dwight who both anchored their respective teams defensively while providing significant offensive impact. Rose had a ton of support on that squad, and its because of that support that he was able to win MVP to begin with (team record). He did a good job taking an otherwise subpar offensive cast and lifting it to slightly above average levels, but he didn't actually lead the best performing unit on the squad so this talk of "carrying" gets ridiculous. You don't win that many games in this league without help. Not even Kobe could do that in '06 & '07, neither could Wade in his peak season '09 or McGrady in '03.
I'm not even being negative about their MVP's here, but saying that if you're going to knock Nash for not being deserving of the award b/c he wasn't the best in the league why not those two? B/c they weren't close to that either. I don't even think Rose was a top 4 player that year.
