Isiah does get overrated when his accomplishments are used to argue how great he was compared to peers. Him having two titles or scoring 25 on a busted ankle isn't why he's better than Chris Paul, that's a shytty argument. "Isiah beat Magic, Bird and Jordan" includes no context of what actually happened in those series and if it was necessary for Isiah to be the best player on the court for Detroit to win. Also not a good argument/

He's also not really brought up a ton, so the overrating isn't as annoying as more popular guys. Only really see it in threads where top PG's are discussed. I guess this is because he never won a MVP, so you don't have people saying he was the best player in the league at any point, and the amount of backlash those Pistons received from opposing stanbases and players that hated their guts. Doesn't have the crazy longevity of Stockton either who is brought up usually because of having unbreakable records.

I have seen teams win less get more celebrated, my issue is just the way they describe the team rather than appreciating it. They just describe it as a dirty team, that team did beat the Celtics/Bulls/Lakers..the 3 main dynasties. They should get more love by NBA but I can agree with they don't have a big enough star to get that type of love.

That is a issue with how NBA tells their story imo, should be more team celebration rather than individual.

Facts the 08 celtics get celebrated more

Dont forget how he treated Magic after HIV, he's not just hated because of handshake but his game and team should be appreciated more rather than being remembered as tough and dirty. They were a great team and should be celebrated

that’s y it’s so crazy to me. The Pistons swept the Celtics and Lakers (granted Magic got hurt) in the 89 run. Jordan stans dong need to elevate the players he denied rings to amp up his legend. That 91 victory over Thomas is worth way more than all the times she shyt on Ewing.

And then, when we talk about 91 Detroit. He beat a Pistons team that was working on a 4th straight trip to the finals.
Magic knew the lakers was toast the way dumars was KILLING him. Then he “pulls a hamstring” :hubie:

I always hate that some high flyers didn't end up with great point guards. The world was robbed when Nique didn't end up with the Lakers. Worthy was the man but damn just imagine the highlights that Magic and Nique would've had together.

Pistons didn't deserve to be on that list considering all those teams only lost 0 or 1 game. Also I would put the 2017 Cavs over this year's Celtics as well. Are they considering degree of difficulty in that list cause if so I'm taking that 2001 Lakers #1.

Damn he finally got up with the rest of the old timers in killing today's game.

I don't disagree with him about there not being enough individualism in today's game but I think that's because defenses have become so advanced combined with analytics basically leading to everything being layups at the rim or 3s. Add in that most of the kids coming up came up with shooting coaches to remove bad habits out of players games so you don't see crazy varied shooting styles.
