We have to start on the desk, and earn our stripes. While "other folks" get to start at mid level positions
Find a help desk job while u study for more advanced stuff - My career took off when I read this thread and stopped waiting for ppl to put me on.You'll have a much better shot landing a high paying job in IT/Networking job in Houston than in LA and for sure Miami.
Not to mention the cost of living in each place.
