This is for a desktop support job lol? Only the question about IP's is what I would consider a question for someone in desktop support.

1. If SCCM is an option I would put together a package and push it to the devices. If not I would create a group policy object for all devices in the domain with the installer.

2. I would try and ping the conference equipment and check general connectivity, if I can reach Google but not the conference then it could be an issue on the opposite end.Check the connections and replug everything verify that I have link lights. If not then I would try a different cable. If possible I would try another port. Do ipconfig release and renew. Run the windows troubleshooter and restart the device.

3. This one doesn't make sense, what are they asking for? The public IP of your network? Are you trying to get more public IP's for the equipment? How would you coordinate with them?
Thanks for the response. Can I pm you the full assessment there’s more details. I don’t wanna post it fully on here’s to avoid it being searchable via google. And the title isn’t really “helpdesk” it’s IT associate. Basically they have a managed service provider handling most of the IT they just need associates to be the intermediary.

If you’re aiming for security which ccna do you get? I’ve seen different ones and I’m not sure what’s the difference.
I’m probably not the best person to answer this. I’m not a security guy at all. I know there is a CCNA security track but I’m not sure that’s the best route to go.

Everyone I know in security started with CISSP

CCNA Security would be the inital one. Be warned though you will need to pass the CCENT before you can take it.

I'm at the point where if a company wants me to do more than 2-3 interviews I'm just gonna start declining. I'm not doing 6 interviews with you breh, you ain't Amazon. :camby:

I had a company reach out by email for a phone assessment to get a phone interview, then a phone interview to get a in person interview with hiring manager just to get another interview with the IT director. Thats 4 interviews is this shyt normal :hhh:

Got notice today that I'll be laid off in the coming months :to:

I already started applying to jobs, and I plan on just taking online courses at work until my last day. If I'm still at my job on the last day; I qualify for severance, and maybe able to get a prorated amount of my annual bonus. If you were in my shoes, would you just stay until the last day to collect the extra money or find another job before the last day?

I don't know how much time you have left but I would looking for another job. Job hunting is better when you have a job already instead of desperately looking for one.

how far are yall willing to commute for an IT job? Are yall willing to relocate?

Im stuck in a small city in Texas and all the IT jobs are in DFW or Austin areas. I make $14 a hr but there's jobs in Dallas offering like $18-20 for basic help desk type shyt. Never commuted or just moved before :lupe:

How's the cost of living out there bro? Out here in CA the cost of living is ridiculous and no way you can get by on 14/hr. I've thought about relocating many times.

Depend on how much you got saved and how hard it'll be for you to get another job.

Breh Texas is way more affordable than Cali. 14 is like minimum wage in Cali. I stay in a small -medium sized city in Central TX and most ppl don’t make 14-15 an hour.. i want to move to Dallas or Austin tho.. that’s when I can expect a higher wage but also a higher cost of living. That 1 bdrm apt in Downtown Dallas for $1300 a month is gonna be a whole lot nicer than the one in L.A

Almost anywhere you go will be better than Cali. I make decent money and I'm thinking about leaving because of how much everything is here.

My downstairs neighbor has a relative that works as a gas station clerk in the midwest and has his own apartment. I was like how :why:.
My entire family and friends are out here in Cali, but man it may be time for me to make that move outta here :patrice:
