They with the fukkery?

Early in my career before i knew better, id get a call from one of their recruiters telling me they have several positions that id be qualified for and come in to talk to them. Get there and all you do is fill out paperwork(even tax forms) and talk to the recruiter who called you in about your background etc.. Its like they were just getting peoples info and filing it. Never to hear from them again or even a response when you call. I hope they have changed since then.

Sounds like some bullshyt. I’m not too invested because I doubt they’re gonna come close to what I make right now if they even offer me something, but I still wanna get my feet wet seeing how the process goes.

Google search *Insert Job title* resume and jack the best ones & tailor it to fit your info.

Yo you a bold as nikka :umad:

They ever ask you about any of that shyt? I know embellishing resumes ain't anything new, but I take it easy on adding shyt that can comeback and bite me in an interview.

Although, I guess if you know enough you can slide on through. :steviej:

For those looking to break into the field.

My advice:

Start out by acquiring a helpdesk job at a webhosting company (hostgator/cpanel..etc) They train you and you can gain experience from there... the pay starts at like $10.50/hr...you can move up quick.. get your A+ cert and you're good.

Once you're there for 2-3 years you can move into more of a network admin role.

That's what I did

I worked at Hostgator for 2 years as a lvl. 2 helpdesk tech, A+ certified, Network+ certified, now I'm an assistant network admin/IP telephony admin/desktop support tech for a retail electric provider.

:win:

Also my Undergrad major has absolutely NOTHING to do w/ IT..just goes to show Experience goes a long way in the IT field.

Hope this helps brehs.
is this advice still applicable? :jbhmm:

how far are yall willing to commute for an IT job? Are yall willing to relocate?

Im stuck in a small city in Texas and all the IT jobs are in DFW or Austin areas. I make $14 a hr but there's jobs in Dallas offering like $18-20 for basic help desk type shyt. Never commuted or just moved before :lupe:

Anyone in Houston wanna explain why it's such a shyt tech city compared to ATX, Dallas, and SA? I have recruiters in those three cities blowing up my inbox but the one city I wanna move to I only get a few messages here and there and it's all for Azure even though I work with AWS.

And wassup with these Indian recruiters telling me to "Do the needful"? fukk does that even mean bruh? :mjlol:

Breh Dallas basically be annoying a nikka with so many job openings and job fairs. I think im gonna up and move
