Almost halfway thru the AWS Solution Architect class on Udemy. The material is not hard but these questions at the end are killing me. It doesn't help that I'm trying to power thru the videos and the console so half to the material is going in and out of my head. I should be done by early October and I should be able to take the exam by either later in the month or in November.

For anyone who took and pass the SAA test, did it help you with getting a cloud job afterwards?

Lord knows I hate to help a buckeye, but do some projects alongside the cert to beef up the resume and stand out. The cert by itself is no longer a golden ticket.

My term starts on Oct 1 for the MS ITM program. I have the experience so I'm mainly knocking this out while I have the flexibility working remote.
I’m signed up for the Bachelors program for information technology. I have a business degree already and wanted a IT degree to help check the box for applications. Thought about doing the accelerated bachelors/masters program but I had no desire to write long as papers anymore. Would love to hear if there masters program is a bunch of papers since WGU is a proficiency based school

I'm hoping to have my RHCSA cert by sometime next year. I'm looking out for any emails about discounts for these bootcamps that my job send and get them to pay for that shyt and send me so I can boost up my certs.
Yep I’m working on this too. Hope to be ready enough to test when I go to Atlanta next month. I prefer not taking it remotely so since I’ll be up there anyway figured I would test in person

Is there any console where I can lab for free? I'm tired of getting change for the stuff that I'm learning on AWS now.

I'm currently at WGU. A couple of classes from obtaining my BS in Information Technology.

WGU is tailored for people who already have IT experience I wish I've known that before enrolling. In other words having a degree is cool, but nowadays experience is king.

Also WGU being an online school the networking connections sucks compared to a traditional brick and mortar institution
How are the classes at WGU? Are exams proctored?
Is it possible to speed run through the program in 6 months to a year?

Classes range from easy ( study in a few days) to yikes ( put a couple of months aside to study)

This is coming from someone who has no IT experience

Test are proctored, the process is a pain in the ass

If you have experience yea you can knock it out in that time frame, but that's not the norm.

From what I've read and heard speaking with a colleague who went through an MS and MBA program, it's paper heavy, but manageable when you know exactl what the instructors are looking for. Give no more, no less. I'll have my own review once I get deeper into the program.

My recommendation is pick an enterprise application and just learn everything about it and you’ll always be employable.

I’m managing a 600+ user implementation of ServiceNow. Didn’t have any SNow experience before this project, learning as I go along with the SNow University and YT videos. Our budget didn’t include a SNow solution architect, so I’m also filling that role. :francis: .
