some respectable early 2000s street music I could see someone bumpin.
but street music wasn't where it was at in the 2000s, it was all about club bangers.
but like another user said, the 90s was all about the legitimate street (trap) rap. The 2000s was all about music videos on cable tv, MTV, VH1 and BET. It does seem like were goin back to that 90s gritty rap era with this new drill music.
You didn't link a single song from the EARLY 2000s

No, do you know what classic means
None of TI"s music has stayed the test of the time, they don't even use the beats to his songs in movie trailers, but beats like 5 on it are in movie trailers and being turned into scores and remixed, you know why, because it's a classic
None of them ATL rappers from that era have any classic music at all, none of TI's hits are played in arenas, he don't got a party up Record like DMX on all his commercial songs that has any staying power not even in the song with rihanna, his music did not age well at all nothing from that era did
I didn't say they weren't, that's the type of Music TI made like the track with Rihana and Justin Timberlake, he did all those bubblegum songs and he doesn't even a cac favorite like Party Up, and who said anything about 50 cents
You complete miss the point I was making because you don't even understand the type of artist TI was, he was a commercial ass bubblebum ass rapper, he doesn't have any classic music, this fake street nikka image of his is fukking laughable and nobody took him serious at all
Luda bodied this nikka, destroyed him way better rapper, and Luda doesn't even have any classics himself
Trap Music is not a goddamn reasonable doubt for the south, everything on the album sounds dated
You have some of the worst takes of all time

...
TI doesn't have any undisputed classic albums, I'll agree with you there. Trap Muzik and Urban Legend are the closest he got with that; those two are arguably classic but if one has to "argue" an album is classic it probably isn't...
He has plenty of classic singles, though. Never in life has the barometer of what a classic is, been measured by placement in cinema. Or else 99% of the records we call classics really aren't that...
I'm 33 years old so I remember DMX's brief run pretty well, and I've been saying for years he's overrated, but we'll save that for a different thread. Party Up isn't one of his best records despite being maybe his biggest commercial hit, TI has plenty of songs better than Party Up----->X has plenty of songs better than Party Up but because it made a movie it's a classic

...
I'll also agree with you that 2000s hip hop didn't age well, particularly after about '02. From '03 thru the end of the decade it got super corny but it wasn't "trap" that watered it down, as REAL "trap" was just the evolution of "gangsta rap"; "gangsta rap" evolved to "trap" which has since evolved to "drill" and a decade from now there'll be a newer iteration of the same shyt..
And Tip's music overall hasn't aged well so I don't disagree with you there either, especially your point being that most of that 2003 thru 2009 rap is bad upon retrospect. To say "none" aged well though is hyperbolic...
Trap Muzik isn't Reasonable Doubt but it's a damn good album even 19 years later. Maybe just short of classic but it's close enough to argue, it's strong...
Also false that Luda has no classics, similar to Tip, he has a handful of albums that can be argued as classic but none that are unbeatable, but he has classic songs...
TI also is a real street dude, this idea he isn't came from all the goofy antics over the years and didn't even start until the federal arrest and Shawty Lo beef, so it had a carryover effect. And again he didn't help himself with his own behavior at times but his actual street resume isn't in question. I don't think most grown men view Tip as some American Gangster but his street background is authentic...
You the only poster who can mix solid takes and bad takes all in one post so consistently

...
ok? doesn't make them classic. same way people are bumpin music now and in a decade those same artist and songs are gonna be forgettable. Thats music.
an example would be a girl in her 30s saying Britney Spears has a classic album? you'd laugh.
this is probley the closet thing to a classic at the time to come from that trap/poppin bottle era in ATL.
This isn't even a Top 50 Ludacris song nikka lol...
Did I just see a post that is propping up a bottom tier Luda single as a classic?
Unbelievable...
I don’t even like TIP like that but this thread is straight up goofy
TI had shyt in an absolute chokehold for years
Where the fukk are y’all nikkas from
TI was super relevant from 2003 thru 2009 or so. That was his peak run, he had healthy longevity. I wouldn't say he had rap in a choke though, that exact same period overlapped with the peaks of Kanye and Wayne who, deservedly so, are greater rappers on the All-Time boards because they put out more resounding art at the same time...
Tip's peak also saw Drake's intro, Jeezy's intro and high ass peak, saw older rappers like Hov and Common put out work as good or better than Tip's best (Tip doesn't have a single album fukking with '05's Be)...
I'm saying all this as a guy whose long said I'm a Tip fan...
He had his run, it was potent and he deserves to be commemorated for his contributions during his run. He was hot, nikkas saying he wasn't are haters, but I think saying he had the game in the choke is going to the extreme in the other direction, too...
