Some of you are really out of touch. Videos are irrelevant and have been for a while, those Youtube views are from people looking up the song and the video being the first thing to pop up. Most just watch it once or twice and move on.

I don't think you realize that videos are trivial. Nobody feels different or tunes out a song cuz the visuals don't match the music. You're acting like the video is make or break for the artist when it's just a promotional tool![]()
again... CONSIDERING THE POETIC JUSTICE video is similar in style and its way of story-telling...

Matter fact just read this and see why Kendrick's shyt is much deeper than Cole's video
Kendrick Lamar

When did I say any of that...you're reading what you want into my comments. I just critiqued the video's effect on the song. Which is relevant insofar as youtube hits are going to begin to be included on the Billboard Charts. But aside from that, you're completely off about how often people watch videos.
implying you don't agree with what I said. And you also bolded part of my comment which you didn't address for some reason.
This nikka done missed the fukking layup.![]()

Not true
Again, they're promotional tools, something that TV stations can play (which is another tool for promotion in itself). Nobody cares about a video like that. Unless the video makes the song (ex; Gangnam Style) they're irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.yet the SAME argument you were saying about j. cole's video is exactly how kendrick lamar's video is format.
and BOTH of them are deep in context to whut they were portray. but u just want to hate just 'cause...

I'm almost positive most people don't watch videos on a basis like that where it's influential enough for them to not feel the same way about a song.
because you said it wasn't meant to be a top 25 hit when that's exactly what the aim is. I have no idea how you could come to such a conclusion when even Jay told him he had one. As far as videos going into how people feel a song, obviously the video won't change the song if I'm in the car. I'm describing the visual effect on the song while viewing it. It does not embody the ambiance of the record. Power Trip is a soulful song, but it's a little more upbeat than that video. The first time I saw the video I thought they slowed down the song to fit the video.
