Unfortunately the fact that teams can trade players and the players have no say and/or prior knowledge to where they end up, unless they have a clause in their contract, makes them property.

ehhh, I don't agree. It's a choice.

you can say fukk it and choose not to play. just know that you give up the millions in the process.

You're paid for a service, that's it. And the terms of that service include language that your services can be moved whenever desired by the team owner UNLESS you can negotiate otherwise.

Comparing this shyt to slavery has always been corny. It was literally life or death with slavery and the language of slavery specifically designated you as property. This is entertainment.

While I think Silver was kinda corny having team owners referred to now as governors, I get it. You own the TEAM, not the PLAYER.

NBA players are employees of the NBA, not property. The players union has a collective bargaining agreement with the NBA. In what world does that make players the property of the owners of these teams? You are trying to tell me that unless a player has a no trade clause, he is a property of another man. The fukk? The players have already had their say about being able to be traded to another team in the league. They agreed to the shyt in their contracts and in the collective bargaining agreement. They agree that they can be traded to any of the teams if terms of their contract allows. The collective bargaining agreement also doesn’t allow the NBA to alter their contract once they are traded. The terms must be honored by the other team. These men are business men making individual deals under the collective bargaining agreement, not property

East coast cacs are the worst. MacMullan this, McArthur that. They think everything belongs to them, they smile in your face but eventually show their true colors. Funnily, these east coast writers are one of big reasons why east coast NBA teams barely win championships these days.

These writers affect dude's jumpshots?:gucci:

From what I remember when i used to read sports columns, I generally agree east coast writers are entitled as hell but these dudes aren't the reason why teams aren't winning championships:skip:

She’s a habitual line stepper. I recall once when she was on Lebatard’s radio show and she called Stugotz “honey”, “toots”, and some other catcalling nickname in a very condescending tone that I’m sure she’d be storming the offices demanding they be reprimanded for.

What state would the league be in if cats just came and go as they pleased, had no obligation to play, and didn't give a fukk about their job? You think the NBA would even exist? What about the love for the game and desire to win that y'all nikkas say that's missing in today's era? What is it y'all nikkas want?

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
they're not property.....they're "assets" Jackie :snoop:

property is a form of asset. And since they are loosely related they can also be interchangeable.

And sports analysts commonly refer to players as assets instead of just players.

Referring to people as assets in they way they do in sports media is disrespectful in itself and should be looked at the same as referring to them as property.

i dont think she meant it the way the ppl are trying to roll with it:russ:

but yeah, you should stay away from calling black folks property in any way.

if everyone could enter da leagur and go to any team they wanted, da league would be over in a year or 2
