Funny how outta all those names only Hov still drop heat to this day :sas1:

Yo, first I snatched the streets then I snatched the charts
First I had they ear, now I have their heart
Rappers came and went, I've been here from the start
I seen them put it together, watched them take it apart
Seen the rovers roll up wit ribbons
I seen them repo'd, resold then redriven
So when I reload, he holds number one position
When you hot I'm hot
And when your feet cold, mines is sizzlin'

It's plain to see, nikkas can't fukk with me
'Cause I'm a be that nikka for life
This is not an image, this is God given
This is hard livin', mixed with Cristal sippin'
It's the most consistent, Hov
Give you the most hits you can fit inside a whole disc and
nikka I'm home on these charts, y'all nikkas visitin'
It's Hov tradition, Jeff Gordon of rap
I'm back to claim pole position, holla at ya boy :whew:
:wow: Hov

monster was huge WITHOUT drake.
beast mode was huge WITHOUT drake.
56 nights was huge WITHOUT drake.

fukk up some commas and march madness went platinum WITHOUT drake.

if anything drake latched on to future's buzz to keep him relevent.

Monster came out in 2015 and was not huge when it dropped neither was BeastMode

Future started dominating when 56 nights came out and everyone went back to Beast mode and Monster.

You can even look at those threads on here when those tapes came out.

one thing people don't notice about Drake is, if he wasn't also singing r&b, he wouldn't have dominated this long. If he was strictly rapping, he would have fazed out like Wayne. He doesn't have enough depth or flow of his own

What the hell are you talking about.

depth or flow. None of that has been required to run hiphop. Drake did it longer than anyone with rap records. the singing is just icing on the top

I don't like the way you lowkey tried to slide Master P and No Limit in there as if they were a footnote:martin:

And 50cent in 2005 over Jeezy?I don't remember Ross ever running a year, letalong 3,but I'll have to think about it. I will say for certain that him running 3 years is a lie though. Also Migos have to get 2017 with Kendrick.

How was that a footnote? I could have simply not mentioned P at all. He just wasn't bigger than Puffy/Biggie that year.

Jeezy didn't run 2005. That is a rewrite. 50 owned 2005 beginning with Game's The Documentary and ending with the GRODT Soundtrack. I've never been a 50 fan and bumped Jeezy more than i ever bumped 50, but 2005 was 50's.

2010 was Ross. He had a strong run until mid 2012.

Kendrick is easily bigger than Migos in 2017.

DMX the artist was bigger than Jay Z the artist in 98. But you also had Lauryn Hill.

Jay has had great longevity and consistency but he was never the number one most popular rapper. Doesn't take anything away from him tho

Actually he wasn't. None of DMX's albums sold as Hard Knock Life and Jay-z singles were charted higher. The biggest artist that year was really Lauryn Hill.

Were all HUGE albums. And I’m not even a fan of Nelly/Ja but just strictly being objective all three of those acts had a phenomenal year

MMLP was #1 on billboards for 8 weeks and you still try to disdained its legacy by saying it was overshadowed by an ok pop album by Nelly and an album by Ja-Rule of all people. Nobody even remembered that shyt. That shyt was :trash:

yeah my bad.

My point was it didn't come out the year people are saying Future dominated.

I probably would give Future that 15 just because Drake in 16 was the biggest year for a rapper ever.

And you can make a strong argument for Migos this year.

Nah. 2005 was not Jeezy. 50 and Game dropped "How We Do" and "Hate It or Love It" back to back. 50 had some wack singles in "Candyshop" and "Just A Lil' Bit" for his own album, but there was a gang of album cuts that were heavy from "Ski Mask Way" to "Baltimore Love Thing" to "Position of Power". Then you had "Outta Control" remix. Act like "Hustler's Ambition" and "Window Shopper" weren't hot.

Migos didn't run this year. Kendrick's album is the uear's biggest and the singles from it are some of the biggest.

You know what I actually forgot MMLP came out that year

I think Eminem is overrated and his discography is overall garbage, but this album isn’t garbage and you gotta put him up there in that year.

So for 00 I’ll amend it to

Kast/Nelly/Em/Ja

Rule 3:36 had monster singles and was 3X Platinum

Stankonia was Kast’s most successful album before Speakerboxx/Love below, was certified 4x platinum and nominated for AOTY at the Grammys.

Country Grammar was more than “an ok pop album” it topped Billboard for 5 straight weeks and the singles were EVERYWHERE.
