Here's a better one;

No one ran it longer than Drake nor as long as LL.

1) Why would anybody do that in 2017?Especially when Jeezy isn't exactly a thing of the present himself:dahell:?

You mentioned P as a footnote of 97,instead of mentioning him in 98 where he also had movies, clothing line, had nikkas wearing the clothes and the No Limit pendents:wow:? P put on a whole label of stars from out of nowhere,on his back. Kicked the doors down for Cash Money which had a run the following year, not to mention the entire south in general.

I wasn't saying P was bigger than Biggie in 97,I'm saying P was Bigger than Biggie was in 97 before Biggie died, yet doesn't get a mention for 98. And you can't seriously be saying P benefited from Pacs death like Biggie and Puff benefited from Biggies death:comeon:. If you really believe thats a disqualification, and you are holding that against P,than DMX shouldn't be on the list either.

Jeezy in 2017 is looked at far more favorably than 50. When people are seriously acting like 50 fell completely off in 2005, there's cause for concern because people are clearly rewriting history. 50 had artists writing disses left and right after "Piggybank". When they did a special on Kanye's Late Registration, there's a clip of Kanye's crew singing "Piggybank". 50 and Game fell out, which prompted Game's whole G-Unot movement.

Honestly, if I could've put Mase in the list for '97 and not mentioned P at all.

My list is based strictly off of the music and the response to it and the extra curriculars. I didn't disqualify P for doing the Pac tributes. I only mentioned him capitalizing off Pac because you mentioned Biggie's death. P was not bigger than Biggie before Biggie died. Biggie had dropped "Hypnotize" at the top of '97, which was huge and bigger than anything P had out. Bad Boy was set up to have a big year right when they dropped "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" in late '96 and that song is unlistenable IMO, but still huge especially at the time it dropped.

There are very very rare occurrences where one rapper reined Supreme during an entire year. Nas came close in 94 but you gotta give BIG his credit and Jay came VERY close in 01 but we all know what happened on his birthday of that year...

This is how I’d rank it

94- Nas/Big
95- Pac/Bone Thugz
96- Nas/Pac/Fugees
97-BIG/Master P & No Limit/WuTang
98- Jay-Z/DMX
99- Nas/Jay/DMX/Em
00-Nelly/Ja/Outkast/Em
01- Jay/Ja
02-Nas/Jay/Em/Nelly
03- 50 Cent/Jay/Outkast
04-Kanye/T.I./Luda
05- Kanye/50/Jeezy/Wayne
06- T. I./Game/Jay
07-Kanye/Jay/Lupe
08- Wayne (T.I./Nas/and Ye had dope years but I’d be remiss if I didn’t give it to Wayne for thoroughly running the game in 08, regardless of personal preference)
09-Jay ( you could make a case for Ross too)
10-Kanye/Drake/Em
11-Drake/ Jay & Kanye as The Throne
12-Nas/Kendrick/Ross
13-Drake/Kanye
14-Nicki Minaj/Schoolboy Q/J.Cole
15-Kendrick/Drake/Future
16-Kanye/Chance/Drake
17- Kendrick Lamar (I won’t argue anyone who puts Jay here as well)

What about Snoop in '94? Even though he dropped in '93, that album carried over into '94 and then there's "Murder Was The Case", which became it's own thing. There's his VMA performance and that Soul Train Awards performance. There's also '95 Biggie.

'95-'96- Pac didn't run it alone. There was Biggie who had a stellar '95 as well. In '96, there was The Fugees. In both years, there was also Bone.

'97- Biggie passed, nut was on his way to having a huge '97. Puff came in after Biggie's death and dominated. Master P also had a big '97.

'98- X and Lauryn

'99- X, Jay, and Juve

'00- Nelly and Em

'01- Jay and Ja

'02- Eminem, Ja, and Nelly

'03- 50 Cent

'04- Kanye

'05- 50 Cent

'06- T.I.

'07- Wayne/Kanye

'08- Wayne

'09- arguably Jay

'10- Ross

'11- Drake/Ross

'12- Ross/2Chainz

'13- Drake/Jay

'14- Future

'15- Drake/Future

'16-

'17- Kendrick

Brehh... :ohhh:

You know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Salute :salute:

Edit- I'd give 2016 to Drake

You can usually tell how old some of you are by the opinion. I can’t even take that chick seriously. She has no clue of rap history

His fans were mostly white people who didn't realize black people had moved on by then
We wont forget how wack and corny those singles were coming off the sophmore album he dropped. 50 was cold out here among rap fans, and had one last hoorah with Window Shopper, and by that point so many people hated him it still wasn't unanimous. It was about a 50/50 split, with 50% complaining about how he came at Ja for crooning, now he won't stop crooningThat record wasn't as beloved at the time I think you may be attempting to rewrite it was,but a hit yes. But among hiphop fans it was iffy.
:mjlol:
50 had the whole 2005 on smash. The only one who came close was Kanye and he had to rely on PR stunts. Let's not forget the whole "George Bush hates black people" stunt
50 sold almost two million records in the first two weeks.

Candy shop and just a lil bit was top5 songs at the same time

Y'all better stop it 17 was the Migos year

Also how could Eminem dominate rap when his music got no burn in any black clubs whatsoever during his peak? Jigga had white boys & the hood but you could never say the same about Em
