'95-'96- Pac didn't run it alone. There was Biggie who had a stellar '95 as well. In '96, there was The Fugees. In both years, there was also Bone.

'97- Biggie passed, nut was on his way to having a huge '97. Puff came in after Biggie's death and dominated. Master P also had a big '97.

'98- X and Lauryn

'99- X, Jay, and Juve

'00- Nelly and Em

'01- Jay and Ja

'02- Eminem, Ja, and Nelly

'03- 50 Cent

'04- Kanye

'05- 50 Cent

'06- T.I.

'07- Wayne/Kanye

'08- Wayne

'09- arguably Jay

'10- Ross

'11- Drake/Ross

'12- Ross/2Chainz

'13- Drake/Jay

'14- Future

'15- Drake/Future

'16-

'17- Kendrick

I also could've mentioned Kanye there too. I guess Mike Jones could've gotten a mention too considering the look Houston got after "Still Tippin" took off. Then there's Three Six Mafia who had "Stay Fly" and their biggest year that was capped off with that Oscar nom for their work on Hustle & Flow. 2005 was stacked. But yeah, Jeezy had a huge 2005 too.

LMAOOO @ 2002-2003 being Nelly

Bad News, In Da Club, Wanksta, etc. was already out in 2002...the whole summer of 2002 was 50 easily, let alone earlier that year with all the G-Unit mixtapes

And Em never "ran" those years...he always shared them with others...record sales wise he did smash the charts those years though

Charlamange (ugh) is also correct that while 98 and 99 were the years where the term "DMX the game" came from, Jay was HEAVY in rotation at that time

In fact I'd reason that 98-00 was the reason why so many people hated this nikkas guts

Nelly's "Hot In Herre" and "Dilemma" were bigger than anything 50 had out during that period.

Jay was in heavy rotation, but DMX was the poster boy for that year.

You can't really give Future 2015 while discrediting Drake. Future's biggest song at that point featured Drake and his biggest project up to that point was a joint project with Drake. Meanwhile Drake had IYTITL without Future.

Bruh.....ahahahhaha, nah b. Listen, Monster, Beast Mode, 56 Nights and DS2 was killing shyt. Future got 2015 without Drake. Future didn't need a Drake stimulus that year, Drake jumped on future dikk on some "look at me im cool too" type shyt.

And while we talking about years 2014 go to Bobby Shmurda and Hot nikka. Idc if it was one song that one song ran that year.

That wasn't the point. Yeah, those Future tapes were huge. It doesn't take away from the fact, that "Where Ya At" featuring Drake was the biggest song of Future's career at that point and it doesn't change the fact that WATTBA was Future's biggest project at that point. Did I say he needed Drake? No. Drake was still instrumental in Future's success and run during that period though. To say he wasn't is a lie. Drake benefited Future far more than Future benefited him.

Name a rap album from 2017 bigger than Kendrick's. So "DNA" nor "Humble" were huge singles this year? Kendrick's album isn't the most acclaimed?

2pac was not on top in '95.

anyway, theres more to being on top than just sales. lol @ Eminem, nelly & drake.

jay was clearly the man in 01-02. arguably ''00 & 04.
and he was the only mainstay from '98-04.
