Hope people appreciate his career, now

Been telling people that he was a top 5 player for years here. I got the typical smilie, insult, joke responses.

Only thing he doesnt have is the MVP, and he has as many rings as any of the last 5 men to win that.
Except he hasn’t been a top 5 player for as long as you claim, but so what?

You’re corny to force that talking point, trying to pat yourself on the back under the guise of telling others to appreciate his career as if he won’t play again.

I was actually thinking the other day when talking about the lack of rest teams are getting and the fatigue they're playing under with this playoff schedule, that I hope it doesn't result in a catastrophic injury.

Not that we can determine exactly how that contributed to Tatum's injury, but I definitely think the NBA should change it next season and spread the games out more.

The level of intensity these guys are playing at, compounded by all the space they need to guard, there needs to be some kind of adjustment to the schdueling where we're getting them at their best, not only for game quality (which has dipped from the regular season), but for the sake of the health of the players.
Basketball Gods just delivered another one.

:mjcry:

NBA seriously needs to address this shyt in the offseason. They can't keep continuing with things the way they are.

Injuries aren't isolated.

When you injure one part of your muscle, especially in your limbs, other muscle groups are activated to compensate for the loss of strength. So basically they are putting constant stress on their ankle/achilles to compensate for the loss of strength in the calf, hamstring etc.

fukk you mean?

Only jokic and I guess giannis have been CONSIDTENTLY better than him the past 5 year

This was SGA's first MVP year, and Luka flawed enough that he isn't indisputably better than Tatum. And Embiid has his own flaws and gets injured a lot and Tatum cooks him a lot in the playoffs

It's not the shoes IMO, it's just the sheer amount of minutes these players in between training camp, pre season, regular season, playoffs, and especially summer workouts/skill work. It's not controversial to say that modern players are the most skilled basketball players we have ever seen, and that comes from the insane amount of work that these guys have put in year in and year out since they were young. All those minutes add up on the joints over time. I view it like boxers that were known to spar HEAVY when getting into shape, later on they usually suffer from the most brain injury from the amount of headshots that they would absorb. So long as the league is as skilled and competitive as it is now, these overuse leg injuries like achilles tears aren't going to slow down at all.

It’s gotta be the shoes
No shoe is gonna stop this tendon from snapping. Shoes might help to stop a ankle sprain but not an Achilles rupture.

I goto physical therapy for leg issues and my doctor said it’s not the shoes but overuse. He said the rate of Achilles injuries hasn’t changed today versus 25-30 years ago.

He did say teams should scan muscles and tendons more to check for wear and tear to be preventative and proactive.
