I don't have much faith either, but apparently the Bills are in turmoil as well with an overzealous owner. GM wasn't even informed of the HC being fired? Yeah, they'd be far down on my list too. :mjlol:

That owner is like Jed in the sense that he's very hands on. He owns the Sabres and is the sam way there. Would not want to work under him either.

Ownership has killed any appeal our openings have.

If i knew an employer was so quick to fire someone, i wouldn't want to work there.

One thing about Jed I like is i actually do think he wants to win. He has no idea of going about it, but paying all these fired coaches shows he wants this team to be better and doesn't mind paying to improve the team.

People should stop thinking about 2016 Free Agency, i think that was simply a lack of faith in Baalke at that point and a complete reset was being debated then

Chip Kelly seems to know he’s done as an NFL head coach, and he seems to be OK with that — especially if it means he won’t have to deal with office politics.

Kelly told Jay Glazer of FOX that he’s happy to be an assistant coach in the NFL after failing as a head coach in Philadelphia and San Francisco.

“I’ll go be an offensive coordinator somewhere,” Kelly told Glazer.

Glazer said he also learned from talking to Kelly that issues with fired 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke were a major problem for Kelly in San Francisco.

“For weeks and weeks and weeks, he’s known that Trent Baalke has been trying to undermine him and get him out,” Glazer said.

This is the second report in as many days that paints Baalke as an obstacle in the path of Kelly’s success, the first being the report that Kelly wanted to draft Dak Prescott and Baalke refused. In fairness to Baalke, it should be noted that we haven’t heard his side of the story. But suffice to say, it’s unlikely anyone is going to hire either Kelly to be a head coach again, or Baalke to be a G.M. again.

I don't seen how anybody looking for a HC gig that HAS OPTIONS, would choose SF. The candidates that Jed wants will turn the job down, he'll then hire someone that is just as desperate as he is and will spin it as if that's the guy he wanted all along. The new HC of the 49ers will be an average joe. Comin in and winning at a record rate will not secure you're job, neither will losing a lot, you have to be average with no personality. A puppet similar to Tomsula but with slightly more experience. Or maybe a washed old timer

We need an offensive minded head coach that can work with and develop Kaep more on the offensive end. I know our defense sucked but with the right DC (rex ryan??) that can surely be made up for.

Brehs I'm scared that Trent Dilfer will be given a job with this team in some capacity.

This guy capes for the ownership and Baalke like no other, literally defended the Harbaugh firing and every other bs move they've made, he only "played" here for a short time so I dunno why he goes so hard

Can someone explain to me why no one is talking about Kap's numbers? 16 TDs, 4 INTs, 89 passer rating, 468 yards rushing in 11 games...am I missing something :dame: ?

Dude was Baalke's number one cheerleader. I doubt he'll get a job here in any capacity now that his boy has been fired

We know why, but it pisses me off dude. Breh showed he can still play in the league and at the very least is a serviceable QB. His completion % is bad but his numbers this year were very solid with the worst supporting cast in all of football. What more do people want?

Strength: running game. In his lone season in charge of the 49ers, Kelly was able to get some semblance of a rushing attack cooking with Carlos Hyde and Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers were 11th in rushing DVOA, which is useful given how they ranked 28th or worse in every other offensive or defensive component of DVOA. You might also assume that the 49ers didn't run the ball very frequently by virtue of being behind the vast majority of the time, but their 458 carries in 2016 ranked fifth in football. They also averaged 4.95 yards per carry on first-and-10 rushes, which ranked sixth in the league, just behind the Cowboys.

Weakness: the entire defense. You get the idea. To pick something specific, the 49ers were the worst team in the league against deep passes, which the NFL defines as throws traveling 16 yards or more in the air. Opposing passers went a combined 55-of-105 for 1,559 yards with 11 touchdowns and one pick on these throws, yielding league-worst figures in passer rating (128.8) and QBR (98.8).

Coaching emphasis: hope. When 49ers CEO Jed York was quoted on Monday about how owners can't be fired, he underlined just how difficult it will be for anybody to succeed in San Francisco right now. The 49ers will be hiring their fourth head coach in four seasons after letting Jim Harbaugh leave after losing a power struggle to Trent Baalke, who was fired this weekend. Then again, the last time the 49ers did something like this was between 1975 and 1979, when they actually had six coaches at the helm for at least seven games apiece during a five-year span. They eventually stumbled on the right guy, though, as the coach they settled on for that 1979 campaign was Bill Walsh. The 49ers can't expect to hire another Hall of Famer, but a source of stability would be nice.

9er fans and some nfl shows have said kaep displayed that he can still play and deserves another shot:dwillhuh:

i don't think kaep is in the 9ers long term plans. shyt, i dont even think kaep wants to be. it looks like he's ready to move on and his body language and answers in some press conferences hinted at that too.

and of course louis riddikk is selling the 9ers job hard. he wants to get his foot in the door and start his GM career. i trust the 7 execs and word around the league over a candidate applying for say position even tho i respect the hustle.
