9er fans and some nfl shows have said kaep displayed that he can still play and deserves another shot:dwillhuh:

i don't think kaep is in the 9ers long term plans. shyt, i dont even think kaep wants to be. it looks like he's ready to move on and his body language and answers in some press conferences hinted at that too.

and of course louis riddikk is selling the 9ers job hard. he wants to get his foot in the door and start his GM career. i trust the 7 execs and word around the league over a candidate applying for say position even tho i respect the hustle.
Apparently riddikk is well respected around the league and has 9 years of experience as director of college scouting

Makes me wonder why he's on tv with background though

Of all the bullshyt names mentioned I'd take Mcdaniels in a heartbeat. In no position to be picky. He ain't coming here but I dunno how he's not everyone here too choice. He been groomed under Belli, he wasn't ready as an HC before

Chip Kelly seems to know he’s done as an NFL head coach, and he seems to be OK with that — especially if it means he won’t have to deal with office politics.

Kelly told Jay Glazer of FOX that he’s happy to be an assistant coach in the NFL after failing as a head coach in Philadelphia and San Francisco.

“I’ll go be an offensive coordinator somewhere,” Kelly told Glazer.

Glazer said he also learned from talking to Kelly that issues with fired 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke were a major problem for Kelly in San Francisco.

“For weeks and weeks and weeks, he’s known that Trent Baalke has been trying to undermine him and get him out,” Glazer said.

This is the second report in as many days that paints Baalke as an obstacle in the path of Kelly’s success, the first being the report that Kelly wanted to draft Dak Prescott and Baalke refused. In fairness to Baalke, it should be noted that we haven’t heard his side of the story. But suffice to say, it’s unlikely anyone is going to hire either Kelly to be a head coach again, or Baalke to be a G.M. again.

i hold baalke accountable for a lot of the failures of this team but i think all of these leaks and reports are smear campaigns and deflecting blame at this point. bringing up dak is such a weak point since 30 other teams passed on him as well. it's the same talking point of the 9ers draftin smith over rodgers.

and chip has signed two contracts for a total close to 50 million so i hope he would be ok. seems like getting a HC job is like hitting a small lotto. you get that 25-30 mill and work for half of the contract length a lot of the times but still get paid. most still end up working as a coordinator or go coach college football. must be nice.

The Baalke Chip was a mess, sounds like Baalke is going to have a real hard time getting a GM gig again.

But who gives a fukk, we're done with both of them. Their failures stand out on their own.

Can someone explain to me why no one is talking about Kap's numbers? 16 TDs, 4 INTs, 89 passer rating, 468 yards rushing in 11 games...am I missing something :dame: ?

Because this isn't the San Francisco Kaepernicks.

He won 1 of 11 games, the coach and the GM just got fired and you expect the attention to be on his stats?

There's a lot bigger issues to talk about than Kaep at this point

Unless Mcdaniels is bringing Tom Brady with him, I don't think he'd do anything better than Chip/Tomsula. People forget he was the OC in St. Louis after he was fired from Denver. That team averaged 12.1 ppg...and that team had Brandon Lloyd at receiver.

If I had to choose between McDaniels and Shannahan, I'd pick Shannahan because at least you can see that he has had a direct impact on the Falcons offense and has made it better going into year 2. With New England, it doesn't matter who you stick in as OC or QB for that matter, the system is designed to get the most out of every player.

trying to be an optimist. if the new HC really gets a chance to be paired with a complimentary GM being in charge of a successful turnaround could be a "fun" challenge to take on.

don't really see the reason why baalke would try to knowingly undermine chip. he had to understand it was his(baalkes) last chance and if fired he isn't gonna be a gm for a long time. sabotaging himself is just plain dumb.

I`d take Shanahan too, but he's been around the block too.

That's what shocks me, seems like dude just had horrendous people skills.

Like you're gonna undermine the coach who is your last chance?

But perhaps he knew of a coach who just fell in the market due to an ACL injury playing golf in August

A key phrase used by news outlets "Niners hoping to luck into another Harbaugh" :skip::wtb:

Well, what else do we have?

No talent, leadership or direction.

Our best bet is complete blind luck. Meaning anyone on this board is just as qualified as Jed York and running the search for GM & Coach, truth is, damn near everyone is MORE qualified.

I don't think he did, people just want to fit it in the narrative now, even if it's logically dumb

baalke had full control of personnel sure, sure he might've vetoed Dak on draft day, but there's no way he wanted chip to fail during the season because his ass was on the line more so than chip's.

I fully agree. McDaniels hasnt shown much under any team not named the Pats. And he also drafted Tebow in the first round :gag:
