qb of WHAT caliber ? :mjlol: you judging him off two games is hilarious

again, answer the question. thats the whole point and you deliberately missing it.

there were plenty of good qbs who sat behind good qbs.
aaron rodgers sat behind favre, and he wasnt available for trade.so did rivers behind brees

pats are smart for trying to flip a 2nd rounder into 1st round + lower picks for sick value off two games. some dumb team thirsty for a qb will surely bite.

Bu bu But he practice hard and sits in QB meetings with Brady :mjlol:
Only time Tom talks to Jimmy is when he presses Jimmy in his phone and he thinks he's ordering Jimmy Johns

Anyone who thinks he's not worth a first round pick and more is beyond clueless.

This is nothing like Cassel, not even close. Jimmy G is a far superior talent.

You will have to pay him someday regardless. Almost every team that has an elite QB does not have their QB on a bargain deal. The cap is going up, and unlike people here that like shniny new toys and draft picks, GM's and teams would rather have an excellent player.

Teams will not have a problem giving up at least a first round pick AND paying him a year later.

It depends on where you are as a franchise. If you're at the bottom, it's hard to justify trading a pick that high unless you think Garoppolo makes you a playoff team next year (or you need a QB and REALLY hate the selection available to you).

I know he talks about playing well into his 40's but if Brady gets #5 he may fukk around and retire this off season. What else would he be playing for if they won it?

Number one in wins
Number one in super bowl
Top 5 in passing yards and touchdowns

:yeshrug: He's already the goat

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Pats asking crazy price for him, 1st and a 4th.

I think they're aiming for mid-level teams in need of a QB with this, they're not aiming for desperate bottom of the barrel teams (Browns, 49ers, Jets, Bears) due to the fact they know they're not getting a top 5 pick for the guy.

They're aiming for that Texans, Broncos, Bills, Cardinals range as they might actually get a mid-round 1st and a 4th for the guy.

Whoever gets him has to be ready to pay him, i`d be cool with SF taking a shot for their 2nd which will be either 33 or 34, and maybe like a 5th and 6th

How is that a crazy price

what does Matt Flynn have to do with Jimmy Garrapolo? Or are you just arbitrarily comparing them?

what is there not to get ? :what:

both were backups to elite qbs
both showed out in very limited amount of games (two for grap, one for flynn), otherwise sitting behind the elite qbs
both attracted interest, with difference being flynn was a FA and grapp is under pats control so he could be traded for picks

Well one was a 4 year starter in college and a second round pick while the other was a backup in college till his senior year and a 7th rounder. Projected quite differently as pro prospects.

who gives a shyt about college careers like 3+ years deep in the nfl ? did pats want to trade brady for picks because of his college career, after he showed out ? no, they didn't.

at the end of the day college careers matter little in the nfl.

Find me the successful pro QB's with less than 25 college starts and a sub 60 completion percentage then tell me college careers dont matter.

if your answer to my question is bu bu this is special and unprecedented, you basically proved my point. and you probably are either a delusional stan or just ignorant.
youre advocating throwing picks out, banking on dumb unprecedented shyt hoping to hit the once-in-a-generation lottery ticket. basically, you'd be @Trip :heh:
You're ignoring what the market is. Think about what the Vikings gave up for Sam Bradford and the Rams to get Goff. Jimmy G is clearly better than both of those guys at this point. People comparing this to other Pats QBs have never watched those guys in New England. Jimmy G is the only one of those guys where you're like "you know what, if Brady retires and this is our future, we're good with that." He has all of the tools. Cassel was able to be schemed around in New England and KC. He never had the arm, accuracy, and ability to read defenses quickly. Rodgers wasn't available to trade for like you said because the Packers were moving on from Favre. TThe other guys were drafted to be Brady's back up. Jimmy was drafted to replace him. Again, if you're a team that needs a QB, JImmy G is better than any QB you would spend a high round pick on in this draft, last year's draft, and probably the draft after that.

If McDaniels takes the Jacksonville job, how can the Jaguars not trade for Jimmy G with those offensive weapons? It would be stupid not to.
