People keep talking about small market teams losing people. Players are asking out of major markets too though. Bron left Miami. KD left the bay. Harden left Houston and NYC. CP3 left LA. Simmons left Philly. Kawhi left Toronto. A lot of those players are still in big markets but it doesn’t seem like the big market is what’s driving them.
Spurs won rings
Cleveland won a ring and were contenders in 07-10 and 14-18
Milwaukee won a ring and will be contenders

That being said, I don’t like the way Zion is handling this.

He’s not lying, dude said no to Ingram and Langdons invite to nba finals game. He said no to meeting Willie Green, even Bledsoe showed up lol. He didn’t go to Vegas in summer league, he didn’t attend the team practices in Tennessee. He did go to Duke practice and USC football games though. When you decline so many team activities during one summer, that is concerning. Even someone as busy as LeBron always shows up to Summer league for a day.
LeBron is attached to his image, not his team or teammates.

Ehhh the majority of those player left major markets to only end up in…. major markets. Bron was a different story because Miami peaked asset and cap space wise and they didn’t have the flexibility to improve the team like Cleveland.

If the NBA want to keep superstars in these mid/small markets they gon need to accelerate the rate of development for these overseas players since they’ll care a lot less about where they land than an American born player.

Naw, breh this might be a Zion thing.

Because Ja Morant has fully embrace the Memphis culture.

Honestly haven't cared about Zion at all. This saga is beyond me and at some point we'll get the details, I guess.

But

I did predict Ja would long term be a star in ways Zion could never be, because Zion's a flying water buffalo who did all them dunks against diminutive CACs in high school, then went to dook and won exactly nothing, because he's fat and a bozo... so GOOD and fukk HIM

Those guys were established stars with clear reasons for why they wanted to move where they went though. Zion is on his rookie deal doing this shyt, it’s pretty unprecedented but I get what you’re saying. This is different than just the player empowerment thing. He hasn’t wanted to play there since day one

This generation isn't hiding it.

Ewing was trying to dip from NY for years even when Riley was there. Even went to court to void his contract. Jordan was retiring and flirted with the Knicks a few times. Shaq left Orlando because he felt it was too small.

While True,The FO for Orlando did Low Ball Shaq in those negotiations and this was after KG and Zo got Paid Paid

Garnett? This was summer 96 he was still on his rookie deal. He left because Penny wanted to be the man/get a bigger deal and mainly because the local Orlando paper ran a poll asking if the Magic should pay him and everyone said know. Michael and the rest of the 96 team flamed his ass all summer over that
