It skyrocketed downwards because a good deal of people wore masks and social distanced as should of been done in the beginning of this. But there are still many people doing none of that in states that are trying and not trying to contain this. People are crossing state lines bringing sickness with them and not self quarantining as they should be.

This is why saying that it is going to keep going down given the government's response and the public's response to this wrong. You have a government by an large that does not care as well as enough citizens that do not care as well for this to never end. We can only hope at a vaccine at this point for this virus and we can not even know when a viable one with no side effects will come out.

And even when it does come out, even if it is safe, the anti-vaxxers won’t take it. And a “good” vaccine is only 50% effective as has already been posted.

If only the people who are not taking this seriously were getting sick then fine, but you have people getting sick who are trying to be safe (people who do not care about the virus visiting or interacting with those that do.)

I dont get it though. If they catch it at a extracurricular activity they are just as irresponsible. If you catch it at target or the grocety store, where masks are mandated that just seems like bad luck...

What about multi generational household where you had younger people not caring bringing home the virus and infecting older family members? Or what about people who are considered "essential' workers that have to deal with those who do not wear masks or social distance?
