this is encouraging

the discouraging thing is Wall's shooting and his turnovers. Those two things have to change if this team will be any good moving forward. Wizards also need a backup PG who can shoot and not turn it over too.

eh, like i said in my first post in the thread, i think with time, the turnovers will go down and he'll become a good shooter if hes dedicated enough. He was only at Kentucky 1 year and wasnt one of those players that can do that and be ready for the league and role he was put in right away. i think he came out after only 1 year to capitalize on all the buzz that was surrounding him and make a lot of money

Top 10 PG's---when healthy

Paul
Rose
Parker
Westbrook
Irving
Rondo
D-Will
Lawson
Holliday
Lillard

+Curry

I'd add (but understand if others don't)...
Felton - better shooter, not as careless with the ball.
Conley - has really evolved into a PG that knows how to run the offense.
Lowry - higher IQ, defense, toughness

8.0 career apg > 5.3 career apg

7.1 apg in 30 minutes > 7.2 apg in 35 minutes

But I see you rep Carolina, so I see where you coming from.

Sure I'm biased but that doesn't change the fact that Lawson is better :heh:

Can't compare career assist numbers because Lawson has had Billups, Felton, and Miller he's had to deal with.

Only ONE player in the NBA this season has had 4 games of 10+ assists and 0 turnovers. I'll let you guesses who that was and I'll give you a hint, it wasn't Wall. :jawalrus:

Damn I forgot about Curry, guess I consider him more of a SG but yeah you're right

I know who it was, I just seen him do it against the clippers the other night.

Damn forgot all about Curry, yeah Wall is top 12.

Wizards winning % before and after Wall's return can't be denied. He's an impact player who's only 22 and going to get better.

Ason Kidd didn't have a J either, now he's an all-time 3pt fg maker. With due time Wall's shooting and overall game will improve, chill.

John wall is not a basketball player. He is a good athlete, who DOESNT KNOW how to play the game of basketball and happens to play the most important position on the court.

15-13 actually but yeah, I get what you're saying.

My G - Wall has only played 27 games up to today. 15 + 13 = 28 games :skip:

I think the problem is that Grunfeld and Leonsis for some reason thought McGee, Blatche, and Nick Young being core members (and they were part of the Arenas era where accountability was zero in the organization) would be somehow a winning team with Wall leading them. Grunfeld has squandered picks and cap space on stupid things but that is another topic

I think if Wall had a team like this his rookie season with legitimate veterans that can play such as Nene, then I definitely think his development could have been more accelerated. Besides Arenas and Hinrich early in 2010-2011, the Wizards haven't had a real veteran in the back court or anyone to even challenge Wall. Beal had to beat out Jordan Crawford atleast.

The hype and mishandled expectations put on him were a lot. I was watching videos of the 2010 draft and lottery... and it just hit me how hyped he was. I was out of the country during the lottery and draft so I missed out on the hooplah that happened here but looking at the videos it was just insane.

Its like Gilbert Arenas killed someone in 2009-2010 gun incident but people forget that Wizards team with Butler, Jamison, Haywood, Miller, Foye, Stevenson, along with the young Blatche, Young, McGee was not a team that was in playoff contention anyway despite the expectations of the late Abe Polin.

That's a major reason why players like Wall, do get lost in translation - because they're victims of circumstance on these bottom-feeder teams, who are tryna' make their way to the top through constant trial-and-error.

He just outside the top 10

he has the potential to be number one but will never reach it because of this organization and the fact that he isnt that smart of a player.

The turnovers are a greater concern than his jumper now, imo.

I saw Wall play close up for the first time a few weeks ago. Believe me it's his teammates holding him back still.

Walls playmaking/pg skills are top 10.

His athleticism is top 10

He scoring ability isn't.

It's hard to judge wall now. It doesn't seem like he's found his game yet. He hasn't had the chance to.
