One of the main problems with trap beats is that they're too loud and too over produced

The beauty of boom bap is that it's a relatively simplistic best which allows the MC to rhyme and convey their words more easily for the listener.

My problem with trap beats after a while they all sound the same. Also they're all digital, probably just sound effects, synthetic tweaks in built to Fruity Loops

Everyone can't just dig in the crates and chop a sample

nah, nobody uses FL studio stock sounds...stop trying to diss the DAW because nikkas use it to make shyt you don't like. All DAWS are the same.

Nas has an archaic nostalgic flow and delivery... it resonates better with boom bap because of the focus on lyrics

Trap beats force you to flow a certain way ...and you sacrifice lyrics for sonics... it's why Migos sound great but ain't really sayin sh!t

Trap beats force fans to care about the beat more than the lyrics. King Los and a few others body trap beats.

No. Put it like this. My lil bro can make trap beats in his sleep. Funny thing is he loves boom bap beats but he has a hard time making em. Boom Bap is more about feeling. Once u get the technical shyt down wit trap beats u can make dope ones wit ur eyes closed. Them shyts ain't that hard to do. They just sound complicated cause it's alotta shyt goin on. Alotta layering n filtering n shyt. Then what make it so bad is u can jump on YouTube or somethin and learn the plugins and filters and that's that. It does force the producer to learn to mix more tho.

As a beat maker who both samples and does "trap"...
(1) I agree...Today's producers are MORE talented than the old school samplers...

(2) It is NOT easy trying to make an 808 sound BOOMING while not distorting the other instruments...

(3) It is more creative using all the EDM techniques like filter passes, pitch bending, sidechain compression and such

(4) It takes A LOT more time to produce a "Trap" beat than it is to sample...If a sample producer tells me he made a beat in 15 minutes, I believe him...If a trap producer tells me the same, I call :duck:

(5) With all that stated, I will conclude that it is not easier or harder to make a trap beat vs a sample beat and vice versa...

Today's VST instruments and effects are SO DOPE that they can transform a simple 3 note melody into a mosaic of sounds...A lot of them have ready made melodies and sequences...

(6) Final thought, the Trap/Drill sound is so GOOD that you don't need to be a good rapper,,,I don't think you can be a good rapper on a trap/drill beat...Those beats have TOO MANY sounds going...Rapper are forced to keep it simple...

It is like EDM...You just need a nice voice with a nice melody and not too many words...
Just NO u goofy ass nikka. fukk outta here wit this whole post.

These trap producers need to break out on their own and release their own albums like the EDM cats to. fukk the bullshyt "rapping" over the songs but them garbage nikkas

I made a thread about Trap should separate into its own genre and becoming another version of House or Techno music.

Why do they push that shyt so hard to denounce traditional Hip-Hop? :why:

HOLD UP!!!!! is this a serious thread??? do niqqas really not see how repetitive and formulaic these trap beats sound. my niqqa, 90% of the beats SOUND THE SAME!!!!! fukk it, i quit. how can you fight a battle about HIP HOP against a self proclaimed non-"hip hop head" on a hip hop board?? :snoop:

Boom Bap is very versatile and great for lyricism. Storytelling, freestyling, hard hitting statements, boom bap is perfect for that.

Trap on the other hand, is just made for 2 reasons, to make hoes shake their asses and for :demonic: shyt that Gucci makes.
