- Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
hate to be the downer, but this thread is about to be a snapshot of racial wealth disparities.
started off with Riverdale, perfect example. a tiny Jewish enclave in a borough overwhelmingly black and hispanic, and it's the only 'nice' area
but, I'll spin it. Jamaica, Queens has that gritty rep, and some parts earn it, but that area of Eastern Queens actually made Queens the first county in America above 65k population where average black income exceeded average white income

Laurelton: The Queens Community Gentrification Forgot, Where Black Incomes are Higher than Whites
In Laurelton, the average income for black families is $81,000 year. For whites, it is $73,000.
"We have every profession you can name," said Vernel Bennett. "We have from the lawyer to the doctor and the accountant, you know, to the plumber and the electrician."
Blacks began moving here from the South in the 1940s. They also came from other parts of the world.
That’s not the point of the thread. The point is to show any area that sits in a county that has a bad rep. Black neighborhoods that have nice areas are also included.
I was actually going to put pics of St. Albans which has lots of black wealth but St. Albans doesn’t have a bad reputation last time I checked.
But I’m going to see if South Jamaica had any spots. I’m actually going to put some pictures of areas in Mt. Vernon also (wether the area is black or white)
