Steve Nash singlehandedly destroyed the credibility of the MVP award.
Thatdikembe was defensive player of the year
.
scored more, shot higher from the field obviously, anchored the laker defense, led his team to a better record in a tougher conference, and did it while playing his way into shape. It can be argued that was a big a robbery of the award as 1997 or 2011

lol @ hating on iverson's mvp
look up the roster from that year. i think their 2nd best player was adikembe mutombo
Mutombo was putting up great stats as a defensive anchor. Look up his averages in the 2001 Finals.
Nash didn't deserve the 2005 MVP either. Since when is 15.5/11.5/3 MVP numbers? Chris Paul averaged those kind of numbers in 2011 and that was considered a down year for him. Nash finished 18th in per. I know you guys love that stat. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/year/2005
not surprising he still believes Lebron deserved 2010 MVP and attributes our success to D and Thibs.the Suns went from 29 wins to 62 wins (only 60 win team in the NBA) with pretty much the same team other than replacing Marbury with Nash
I mean seriously, did that have to be explained to you?
Again, he wasn't there until later in the season. It's a regular season award. I feel like I'm talking to my brothers kids or something.
in 2001 like @Pesci said. That's it.Means absolutely nothing. Yall stay tryna factor history into a year to year award. That's like saying I could never give Austin Rivers the MVP even if he had the season of a lifetime next season only to fall back to earth after thatCan't believe dude won back-to-back MVPs. Rest of the list goes: Bill Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Moses Malone, Bird, Magic, Jordan, Duncan, and LeBron.
They really put Nash on their level?![]()
He probably watched 5 Bulls games that seasonnot surprising he still believes Lebron deserved 2010 MVP and attributes our success to D and Thibs.

He probably watched 3 Bulls games that season
This thread is stupid, because I remember when Nash won those MVPs, and people werent acting like it was the biggest basketball travesty known to man when he won those awards. Everyone was pretty much like
Also, Rose won his MVP pretty much in a landslide, people like him just hod agendas and love to bytch about trivial shyt
Nobody questioned DRose MVPs other than trolls. Rose had 113 1st place votes, the next closest was fukking 3. Yes, 3.
When Nash won the award, I thought it was a mistake both times.
Shaq should've won in 04-05 when he joined the Heat and averaged damn near 23+11 and a block per game. He instantly made the Heat a CHAMPIONSHIP contender.
In 05-06, Kobe deserved it for carrying that AWFUL Lakers squad to the playoffs.
Joe Johnson and Amare improved as individual players. They added Quinten Richardson who was a 17 point scorer the year before and replaced one of dumbest point guards in the league with a point guard who knew how to run an offense. The Nets drastically improved when they moved Marbury for Kidd too. That says more about Marbury as a basketball player than anything.the Suns went from 29 wins to 62 wins (only 60 win team in the NBA) with pretty much the same team other than replacing Marbury with Nash
I mean seriously, did that have to be explained to you?
Wasn't a top 5 player in either year. So yes it was a travesty.I agree, I think Shaq should have won in 2005. I think Nash should have won in 2006 though. That Suns team lost alot, were being written off and won 55 games
Bron had a great season in 05-06 too, he carried bums to 50 wins
Lets just not act like Nash wasnt right there in the top 2-3 discussion both seasons. Its not some huge travesty
Then I seriously doubt you were watching the league 10 years agoWasn't a top 5 player in either year. So yes it was a travesty.
