That 00/01 Philly squad is similar to this Houston team. Plug in a scoring ball-handler and the defense will do the rest of the work.
works for the regular season but you gotta have at least 2 scoring options on a team to REALLY compete for a ship. I think i might make a thread on bad team managment and which players have been fukked over by the FRONT OFFICE. :whoo:

Nash deserved it more in 06.
Amare missed 79 games and they weren't even picked to make the playoffs and won 54 games.

Shaq winning in 05 would've been fine.

Stop with the kobe BS, his team won 45 and 42 games. MJ in the 80s had better numbers than kobe with a worse team in a harder conference and only 1 MVP award. Tough break

Neither.

Shaq in 05
Kobe in 06

How the hell did Nash win two MVPs when he wasn't a top 5 player in either season? The most overrated point guard in NBA History.

The 479
Means absolutely nothing. Yall stay tryna factor history into a year to year award. That's like saying I could never give Austin Rivers the MVP even if he had the season of a lifetime next season only to fall back to earth after that

The sixers were the one seed BEFORE he got there. Iverson was already carrying them by that point.

:manny:

no love for Theo Ratliff

They were better with Theo Ratliff because they had him and Toni Kukoc together. They traded both of them to get Mutombo which put more pressure on Iverson and Aaron McKie to score more.

BTW, Iverson's Sixers werent that bad.

When Nash won the award, I thought it was a mistake both times.

Shaq should've won in 04-05 when he joined the Heat and averaged damn near 23+11 and a block per game. He instantly made the Heat a CHAMPIONSHIP contender.

In 05-06, Kobe deserved it for carrying that AWFUL Lakers squad to the playoffs.

Shaq didn't even have that good of a season for his standards. the Heat owning teams that year had a lot to do with Wade to

Iverson's game doesn't doesnt work like that. Jerry Stackhouse, larry hughes, Toni Kokoc, and Iggy ALL ended up score a lot more once they weren't teammates with Iverson anymore.... coincident?

the Suns went from 29 wins to 62 wins (only 60 win team in the NBA) with pretty much the same team other than replacing Marbury with Nash

I mean seriously, did that have to be explained to you?
People who use the " same team" narrative are wrong. Also you have the factor in the fact that marbury was traded and they didn't have a legit pg for the rest of the year so it skewed their overall record. With marbury the entire season they probably win 46 games or more. Would that kind of improvement warrant an mvp award? Nope. Nobody ever looks at the entire picture, just push a certain narrative. That also discounts guys naturally entering their primes. Amare also missed like 30 games that season. That "nash" impact wasn't nowhere near as big as people try to make it.

I have no narratives to push, what was the Suns record when they traded Marbury?

Irrelevant seeing how they were a playoff team the year before, teams get off to slow starts. :mjpls:
Will you admit the record and that narrative is flawed since their record was skewed by the trade and injuries? Once people admit that then we can dead that bs "but but but nash improve them 30 wins :damn:" narrative.
