How popular do you think the movie business would be if they just put out dumb, blow em up Michael Bay action blockbusters every week, to the exclusion of every other type of movie? No, you have action movies, comedies, dramas, romantic, artsy, etc.

Other genres in music have a range of interests and topics as well (except for EDM, and thats why its a fad genre that comes and goes), especially country which is why it has such an enduring popularity. Its only rap that wants to hit this consistent one-dimensional note of bugattis and molly, and the genre is starting to really suffer now. This is undeniable.

how old are you, 10? Rap was very diverse in subject matter and sound until southern rap took over. It was popular at first, but the same limited and idiotic subject matter is taking a toll on the overall popularity of rap. Its common sense.

I already said that EDM is dumb, but its cornered the market on the club scene, so the one demo that hip hip is focusing on is abandoning them in droves. There is a world outside of the club, and instead of trying to market and appeal to different tastes and interests, rap continues to try to appeal to this club-going idiot.

You keep making excuses for why rap has fallen off a cliff in terms of sales, radio play, and overall popularity. Keep putting your head in the sand, breh.
