I like Swizz, but it got to the point where Ruff Ryders benched Swizz in favor of Tim on RR3 when they dropped "They Ain't Ready". Crazy enough, he was their marquee producer, but Jada's solos, Eve's latter albums, and even X's latter albums featured less input from Swizz.
Lmao consequently, rr3 is the Wackest one

It isn't because of the lack of Swizz. Honestly, the biggest reason why that one ended up being wack is because a lot of the features turned in throwaways and the main Ruff Ryders didn't have standout either aside from Jada's "They Ain't Ready".

2001 was when Swizz was trying to find a sound. IMO, he ain't really find it until songs like "Big Business" and "I Get High".

And then there was x was my shyt junior year. I was amped as hell when I heard the great depression was dropping, then I heard we right here with that mickey mouse ass beat and immediately thought this album's gonna be wack. Who we be gave me some hope, after 2 listens to the whole album i was like yep straight trash.

Point of all this is that Ruff Ryders came up off Bad Boy establishing The Lox and by extension helping X build a buzz that at the time, Ruff Ryders wasn't in a position to do.

by that same logic, you can say that bad boy benefited from being fed talent via ruff ryder management.

the warlox & murder ma$e were popular underground acts who were fielding offers from numerous other labels before signing to bad boy.

DMX as well. and X was on a ton of other songs aside from those two bad boy joints. LL's 4321 was the biggest.

DMX was already established as was The Lox. Eve is yhe only legit star that Swizz broke and even that one is a reach because he only helmed one of her albums and she got bigger with other producers.

Tim has a couple of noteworthy Hip Hop projects to his name to Swizz's one.

We Are The Streets was the beginning of Swizz running his sound into the ground. He got upstaged. "Recognize" and "Ryde or Die Chick" is what ultimately became what that album is remembered for. It also didn't help matters when Ruff Ryders went with a Timbaland produced record as the lead for the third RR comp.

youre doing a ton of dodging here.

1.) ever heard of Cassidy? Dra-gon?
and wheres timbaland's stars? I'm still waiting.
you mean Eve got more crossover with the other producers, which killed her draw.

2.) if timbaland has a couple noteworthy projects, THEN WHY CANT YOU NAME EM!!??
lol @ swizz only having one. that's bullchit.

3.) again, who are these people that thinks swizz got upstaged? backpackers & fakkits? neither one of them had any business listening to a lox album in the first place. poll some real niccas when you speak on these types of album.

and how'd that work out for ruff ryders?

btw, every label "benches" their top producers after awhile.

1.nikka P.E. didn't put anything out worth talking about after 91'/before 98'.

4.:russell:

6.nikka he's a producer like dame a producer, he wasn't born or gifted "SUPER PRODUCER " he became one by making relevant music, consistently. And being the generator behind multiple acts that took off.
Dame didn't become that, cause his shyt ain't THAT good. Swizz did though :salute:.

7. I believe method did like 400k first week, sounds like a buzz to me.
If dmx was so hot without RR anthem,he'd sold more than 250k.

10.and thanks for reaffirming my point them nikkas wasn't nothing, that flag wasn't nothing until x blew up.
And made the pups comfortable revolting against shiny suit man, before that they were just shiny suit soldiers for puffy:smugdraper:

youre just bullchittin and going in circles at this point. we're done here.

1, to the general public? '92 like I just said. and why am I arguing about this? old chit is old chit.

4. truth hurts.

6. AGAIN, who are these rap stars that timbaland generated?
I don't care which one youre saying is better. I'm just saying that its contradictory to criticize dame grease, and then big up another producer that wont consistently cover all grounds either.

7. I JUST EXPLAINED THE SCIENCE BEHIND METH'S SALES IN THE POST YOU QUOTED, AND YOURE STIL REPEATING THE SAME NONSENSE.

10. okay. you just want to think what you what to think on the fantasy tip.

1.what did they drop in 92' that meant something,(point remains regardless)
6.Tim doesn't have to generate stars when he's pitted against a failure like dame.
He produced more classic songs, more classic albums regardless of genre. And despite hip hop not being his main focused,he's done more in hip hop than dame.
That's like one of them baseball players letting Jordan outshine them in 1995.
Terrible. Dame is lucky swizz showed up and blew up dmx, since his name is so attached.

7,yes you credited meth' s prior work for his 400k+ first week sales. Then acted like others prior work meant nothing.

1. PE had the #1 rap single in the country in '92. I STATED THIS ALREADY.
and no, your point doesn't remain. because by '93-94, the spectacle was gone, despite everything they did in '87-92. you see how that works?

6. youre full of chit right now.

7. let me hit the reset button. maybe I just wasn't clear enough.
the difference with method man, is that he wasn't coming off of a critical flop like snoop or jay.
granted, wutang had lost steam with the general fan in that timeframe, but they had yet to drop a critical flop at that point. plus you know how those wu-warriors are.
and while he did his 400k and whatever numbers, he was no longer a contender.

1.So it dropped in 91',was #1 on rap charts in 92',still changes nothing. Still doesnt place them in snoop's 98' shoes at all.

." FULL OF shyt, when this is actually what happened?

No swizz,no superstar x,we can remove dame though. Irrelevant part of the puzzle.

7.So selling 120k the first week of Tical in 94',then selling 400k first week of tical 2000 in 98' equals no longer a contender?
Makes zero sense. The album not being too good, made him no longer a contender. But initially he was still a top guy.

1. you completely ignored the 2nd part and we know why.

6. youre wasting my time

7. record sales were moving at a faster rate, and meth had more of an established fanbase at that point. shoot, the bulk of tical's sales didn't come until after the 3rd single. PERSPECTIVE.

DMX had a GOAT run

an undisputed classic debut album, several good/great albums, classic singles, classic collabs..with that being said I think his time has passed..his last album that he dropped was weak to me among other things..but I still get hyped listening to his old shyt outside of IDAHIH

the fact that you don't see how method man in '94-95 was way bigger than method man in '98-99 as a rapper, says it all.

I know all I need to know about your mindset on this topic.

you just said I made zero sense.
What makes zero sense is you saying meth was not a contender even though his second album's first weeks sales, tripled his previous album's and his first weeks sales were greater than dmx's and hov's but you said "he wasn't a contender" .
I'm correct when i say you make no sense and anyone with sense can see this clear as day.

this is what happens when you base everything off of sales.

especially when you have no understanding of said sales to begin with.
