Does the credit for Aaliyah's vibe and mood go to her, or the producers and writers of her songs?
Thank you. There's a reason why Missy and Ginuwine fell off after Timbaland stopped producing their albums.

Why does there always has to be that ONE dumbass in every thread about a non hip hop artist talking nonsense about_____musician did not write their own songs.
How many times can it be drilled through a nicca's head that in non hip hop genres that does not matter?
Lady Gaga has written more songs for herself than Whitney Houston has.
Stop it with this "they didn't write their own songs bullshyt" Whitty Hutton
a bit of RnB died when Aaliyah passed...look at it now...ratchet anthems from Keyshia Cole and the likes and raunchy ass Trey Songs...![]()
@ this.nikka aaliyah changed rnb.
first with r kelly.

cant agree with this.
ginuwine didnt fall off after he stopped working with timbo.
his sound just wasnt catered as much to the rap crowd anymore.

Music is music. The fact that one artist can write their own music and have success says alot as to why they are more talented than one that never did it at all. So let's give Beyonce yet another point on the scorecard for why she has more talent than Aaliyah. How much of what Aaliyah did was manufactured by other people?? Her songs, her style...give that credit to others if you wanna be real
I don't even like Beyonce's music outside a handful....You nikkas are just overly sentimental and nostalgic. Like Aaliyah meant that much to R&B and was Patti, Whitney or Chaka level or something![]()
Once again, you nikkas KNOW Beyonce was the reason for their success. Stop it
@ this.
and keyshia cole >>>> aalyiah
aalyiah didnt change anything in the game at all. everything aalyiah did was stuff that was already done. she brought absolutely nothing new to the table.
for starters, t-boz mothered her whole style from her music, to her vibe, to her whole presentation.
yea, we know aalyiah's history. shes barry hankerson's niece. thats how she got on. and just by watching her interviews, you could tell that the hood girl image was just that...an image. and she was not the official voice of the young females around the way back then. that title was hemmed up by monica.

Lol this 47 year old nikka screaming and cursing like a 17 year old girl because he disagrees. But if you think I read beyond three lines of those angry rants you are sadly mistaken. One paragraph sums up a thought nicelykandi, writing ratchet anthems like bills, bills, bills.
plus, marketing/pr bought sales spike era records sales were the reason for their success.
nikka,..stfu!

monica had her fanbase. as did aaliyah and brandy. you cant say monica was the only voice of the young female back then.
Beyonce is a living Legend no doubt but I think Aaliyah again would of been right there in popularity. At the time of her death in 2001, Beyonce was popular but Aaliyah was still bigger at that point.
