i think it's a good fit for that team. They are young and talented in an organization known for losing. Mark Jackson isn't a coach that'll win you a championship, but he's damn good at instilling supreme confidence in your stars and building that foundation. If the decision is between thibs and mj I'd probably pick thibs but mj isn't a bad choice either.
How can people just say this though? Mark Jackson was only a coach for, what, three seasons or something? And it's not as though he ever coached a team with championship aspirations. He got the most out of that Warriors team for where they were at that point, who knows what happens if he coaches them last year and Lee still gets hurt (forcing Draymond in, Kerr himself has said if Lee was healthy he would have kept starting him) and Curry and Klay make the leaps they did.

You're right. He has hasn't coached long enough to really close the book on him, but in my mind he's not a great strategist. Who knows though, maybe he can take the twolves to the promised land. He's got a potential superstar in KAT and that gives you a chance.

Mark Jax is a good starter coach. In like 3-4 years they will be ready for an elite coach to take them over the top.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
to be fair, he only had draymond for 2 years and the 2nd year is when green started to take that leap.

i don't think mark was creative enough offensively to make the warriors the team they are today (moving iggy to the bench, playing green at the 5, having green run the offense from top of the key, etc.), but with a more traditional lineup like the wolves then maybe he can come up with a scheme to maximize their potential together. it wouldn't be a bad hire if wolves go with him.

The Wolves shouldn't be traditional though, the best way to maximize their potential is to take advantage of the uniqueness of the talent they have.

Man what kinda fukkery is this :laff:

Do all the dirty work, make the players better, establish that chemistry, take us to the playoffs and then right before we peak we'll bring in a real coach to do none of the hard stuff and he'll continue your work and take credit :smugfavre:

That's the equivalent of taking a prissy vanilla virgin, teaching her how to up her sex game for months, without actually hitting it. Just watching her develop into a :noah: sex machine. Getting her comfortable and easing her into all the :shaq:ness. And then once she's ready to go all the way, "welp time to bring a REAL MAN in :smugfavre:

People make it seem like if Kerr got the warriors when Mark Jax did they would have been a title lock the entire time or something. They would have still be Ringless those 3 years. They simply weren't Mature or good enough. Regardless of rotations and systems etc. Steph still wasn't the best player in the world or even a top 3 PG . Cut it out.

People are quick to typecast coaches while ignoring circumstances. Minnesota has a young talented roster that is already trending upward as these guys enter their primes so people will look to a guy like Brooks or Jackson because they've had that situation. Just because they've been there doesn't mean they're good at it. I don't know how anyone could look at how Jacksons warriors teams executed compared to now and think he's a solid coach. I won't even get into how foolish he sounds in the booth.

Guys seem to like him but that doesn't mean he's qualified. He can be likable in the locker room and be one of those assistants who holds the big pads and teaches guys how to finish in the paint through contact, or throw passes during shooting drills, etc. A head coach just needs to understand the game more unless he's willing to let an assistant be the brains of the operation (which hes way too insecure to allow).

So let me get this straight...

Once upon a time the Warriors where one of the worst teams in the league...but had some young talent...they hired Mark as a coach and he gradually turned them into a perennial playoff team...

But it seems in this thread people DON'T want Mark Jackson as a coach...because...?
