This us a thread about professional afvancement.

If you arent cut out for it and dont want to do what it takes fine. Being the best and going to the top isnt for everyone.

That said young men still need to be pushed that route and develop thise hard and soft skills to accomplish the task if called on.

Telling young boys, especially young black boys to never even push is one of the biggest disservices to the fba community and it was done by the gynocracy
I never said any of what you just said. I’d probably be a good CEO. I generally do well on most things I take on. But I’m not gonna kill myself to get their just because I can, just because someone tells me it’s what I should want. If you aren’t doing it for yourself (fulfillment, not for your ego) or your family, then you shouldn’t be doing it. And if you make 7 figures and your family dynamic suffers, then you aren’t really doing it for your family. You can make 7 figures without being a CEO. You can push yourself without working toward being a CEO. You think most creatives aspire to be CEOs? You can make 250k+ without being an executive.

Furthermore, this thread is about working 60+ hours for professional advancement. And my whole point is that you don’t HAVE TO work that much to advance into to the top 5-10% of earners if you prepare yourself accordingly. Now if you want to be too 1%?… sure. But I’m happy with top 10% if that means I have more time to actually enjoy my day to day life with my wife and kids. I’m on pace to retire somewhere between 50-55. My house should be paid off by then. Both of my kids will be out of college and it should be debt free… and I should have a few million in the bank if the economy doesn’t collapse right before I retire. I’m happy with that. Anything more than that is a bonus.

I agree if u want to get to a certain level in life

but I also disagree on the fact some individuals are happy where they at and working more than 45 hours isn’t their thing make they make a decent level and living the way they want

I make 6 figures and work 40-50 hour work weeks on average (normally 40). Making 7 figures would be great but it’s not my priority. At my current pace I should be making 200k by the time I’m in my mid to late 40s (and I live in GA). My priority is time and family… not money. I’m currently in the middle of trying to confirm I don’t have a serious health issue that could literally mean I only have a few years left. Though it’s looking positive right now, it brings in perspective how little being rich means in the grand scheme of things. The only thing I could think about was having more time with my 5 year old daughter. As far as money, the only thing that came to mind was wishing I had thought about life insurance earlier. Luckily, my life insurance from work should cover most expenses should I pass away.

F a 60 hour work week.

I get it having a 5 year old daughter. Family is the most precious thing. I don't have kids so I put that extra time into wealth building.

Business owners that employ other people almost never work less than 50- 70 a week. I want to continue to employ other people rather than working for someone else.

I'm not saying you should necessarily work 60 hours on one job, but its a good total for multiple revenue streams so you're not solely dependent on the 9 to 5 stay afloat or save.

It's more about finding work that is meaningful to you than just working long hours. You can work long hours at some shytty retail store, that doesn't mean anything. Find work that you enjoy and it's not really work.

Why work 60+ hours when society is likely to collapse in 10 - 20 years?

I hate how much we've rendered ourselves to become capitalist bootlickers and puppets. We should be trying to tear down this system.
Shut your punk ass up:what:. Im pulling up in that E Class by Memorial day, no if and or buts:umad:

A lot of folks want to be the boss without paying the cost.
Guess what? Before you get the capital/investments to live that 4-hour work week lifestyle, you have to put in the 60-80 hour work week to get there quicker. Unless you inherit money from parents or grannies.

Everyone knows all this... The problem is, you talking about what it SHOULD be and we're talking about what is actually is....

What is this education everyone is speaking of, that allows you to make 6 figures and up and only puts in 40 hours? It's surely not anyone in management, who often has to answer work issues after hours. It's surely not any type of medical field, where they have to work constantly. It's not any type of project management, as we all know that's going to spill over. It's not even sports and entertainment, as those dudes work/practice/train/film/promote all the damn time. Computers, stem, engineering? None of those fields are really going to let you clock in at 9am and clock out at 5pm and have zero work to handle until 9am the next day when you arrive. When you're given that much money or responsibilities, the job stops having hours.

WRONG! Unless you are working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility you can easily find 9 to 5 STEM and engineering jobs. IT jobs work even less hours. I'm cert gang earn well over 6 figures and really never had to work over 45 hours a week at any point in my career and I have been in management for while. Technically I work much less than 40 hours. I probably do 15 hours of real work a week. The Software engineers on my team probably work less. Wasnt there just a thread on software engineers working 2 full time jobs at once remotely? They get away with it cause they aint really working 40 hours.

I even know engineers who make 6 figures and work for state and federal govt departments who clock out exactly at 5pm cause govt don't like paying overtime and stingy on budgets. People in this thread are telling on themselves. If you have to work 60 hours a week to get a ahead you did something wrong in life. I'm glad the younger generation has smartened up and no longer going for the BS. Work smarter not harder.

If it's your own thing, does it really feel like working? When I'm doing my little hustles here and there, and seeing money flow, it doesn't feel as laborious as my 50 hour work week, even though I love my job. Money gained from outside an office is sweeter than that gained within it, it's not a coincidence then that some cultures and families who have discovered this rarely look for the employment thing.

I know a lot of people in tech(myself inlcuded) on average doing 10-30 hours of “real work”. The hours/time is dependent on industry. That’s the result of doing the work on the front in terms of school/internship/entry or junior based roles.

By stacking early(whether its 2 full time tech jobs or 1 full time + 1 parr time or consulting/project based on the side)…one can retire early

Yeah I’m a program manager in IT and I regularly only put in 25-30 hours a week unless we are doing a big project.

Now if I wanted to become a Director with 8- 12 direct reports, I’d have to work 60 hours a week. Is that really worth it for an extra 40K a year? At this point in my life, nope.

KS or anyone else can’t pait a picture applicable to everyone or career. Once the statement or advice is made its up to the listener to interpret and apply it to their lifestyle or career. At least that’s how I interpret the message.
