Except dudes are doing the same thing in reverse with their survivorship bias :ld:

Survivorship bias is usually set aside to showcase an outlier case to be the norm :francis:…. If someone is in here suggesting “yeah sacrifice everything to be the next Jeff Bezos” yeah that’s some bullshyt :ld:.

So, and ofc this is speculation mixed with anecdotal evidence, but ima say the regret of not taking your 20’s seriously is far greater than “sacrificing” (which is bullshyt, Atleast at 60 hours a week but that a whole other reply). And if you really don’t think that you should ask both over and underachievers in ya life :yeshrug:.

This also don’t answer the question, if we decide to take action based on how things can go wrong, which can be unlimited and for everything, why do anything at all?

Every scenario you said was valid and has happened :ld:. But what happens if you live a statistically normal life, die at an average age with average wealth(or negative wealth). :ld:

You only circlejerk with the same 3 brehs in every thread. Your ideas are not popular, and becoming less and less relevant as every day passes.

Name names my G.

Look at your daps in this thread and look at mine.

The truth of the matter is that even if your glorious socialist revolution actually popped off you would be one of the first people lined up against the wall because you provide no actual use to a functional society.

You're just a useful idiot.

[T]he useful idiots, the leftists who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system, when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. Aim higher. [...] They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed any more. They know too much. Some of them, when they get disillusioned, when they see that Marxist-Leninists come to power—obviously they get offended—they think that they will come to power. That will never happen, of course. They will be lined up against the wall and shot.

You work 60 hours?

There are definitely weeks where I’m not working 60 hours, but over the course of an average 7 day week I absolutely do.

On a normal week I’m in meetings for 20-30 hours alone. Time when I’m not in meetings is when ACTUAL work gets done, and I’m sending shyt out to partners or co-workers, working on current projects and planning whatever the next meeting is.

I’ll also have random workdays where I’m out running errands from 11am-1pm, but then I’ll have shyt to do from 3pm well into the evening. My schedule can be flexible and nobody is on my ass about a timecard, which is why I’m willing to give that much of my time to my job. Some nights you’ll catch me finishing a project at 11pm while I smoke a blunt.

But also my schedule isn’t a perfect science :yeshrug: I wish I could carve out more time to get a consistent workout routine down, but lotta times I look up and realize I only got to the gym twice that week. My job can keep me in meetings or in front of my computer till 9-10pm on any given weeknight, for other people that’d be a no-go because something like fitness routine or spending time w/ kids takes precedent, and that’s cool.

I think a lot of people can be successful working less than 60 hours though, for sure. Whatever Kevin Samuels said was probably stupid, but I don’t think logging 50-60 hours if you like your job is crazy.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Yall need to stop being trolled by this hot take weirdo. Dudes whole image is synthetic.

60+ hours? The jobs that even allow that are guaranteed to not pay you your worth. And if you working two jobs, which job is good and okay with you working off hours and late shifts? This Nikka is a joke.
Ok?? What type of job tells you what you can do on your off time?

The comments in this thread is alarming

No wonder the Black Community lacks so much Economic Power. There needs to be a huge mindset shift
Facts... Everybody above me at my job, routinely puts in 60-80 hours a week. They also make triple what the 40 and gone dudes work.

I never understood this logic.

To live life for some imaginary future at the cost of your youth.

What about the brehs who followed that logic, worked their ass off, kissing up to CACS in some corporate gig, and finally bought a house in their 30s. Ready to “eat” on all of the women who are chasing after a “high value” black man.

Only to lose it all (their job, their house, and savings) in the 2008 financial crash.

What say you to them? Grind until your 40s, then eat? They did everything “right”.

Nothing is given in this system of capitalism.

Hell, not even those 6 cert dudes. Those dudes worked to get where they are probably close to a decade ago.

A breh could start right now, just like them, and end up automated out of the work force.

And that’s just the economy.

A breh could work his ass off in his 20s and catch cancer or some other expensive ass disease that wipes his assets.

The logic simply isn’t adding up, especially considering that there aren’t given paths for financial success.

You could become a doctor in your easy 30s if you start early enough, if you’re able to deal with 500-700k dollars of debt. Scholarships are not a given. And assuming it all goes well you might be able to pay it off within 5-8 years.

And even then you’d be close to your 40s where you can truly “eat” off of your money.

Logic of it makes zero sense.

Have you found a job yet :usure:

America is the most overworked country in the developed world. We’ve been on a race to the bottom for decades. People fought for our right to work only 40 hours a week once upon a time. But it seems like since the 08’ recession, employers have had the upper hand and treat it like if you don’t want to work 60+ hours a week, we will find someone who will tomorrow. Americans idolize the European lifestyles, but don’t actually realize how much more laidback they are compared to us. :hhh:They eat dinner for like three hours, take long ass lunch breaks, have weeks of paid vacation time, get paid more on average, work much less hours etc. etc.

If you working 60+ hours a week at UPS or FedEx, you trying to kill yourself physically. Yeah, you can make $150k a year after three years as a UPS driver, but they working you 12 hours a day, six days a week in all types of weather. UPS is hiring, always for a reason. Even something like working sales 60 hours a week will have you on suicide watch.:picard:

The Dali Lama once said what confuses him about mankind is that man trades his health for wealth and uses his money from working to recuperate his broken body. There’s a reason why many people die in America within five years of retiring. :ohhh:Especially in this era where pensions magically disappear or are cut, wages stagnate and social security can’t be cashed out. People in America like work like slaves so their bosses can ball out and they drop dead at age 55-60 while monks in Tibet have been documented for decades and decades to live well past 100 years old because they take optimum care of their mind, body and spirit. But Americans are too busy being slaves treating their bodies like garbage for pennies to ever come anywhere close to reaching that level of vibration. :francis:

The biggest thing I have taken from Mt time in the coli is that young people have NO clue about the real consequences of life. As an old head I say work smarter not longer. Nobody gives a Fukk if you work 60 hours a week. Educate yourself better. You absolutely can't get your health back. You absolutely can't get time back.
The main people in here agreeing with him are older though.
