People never hooped in Jordans anyway

Jordan can't sell new product shoe design that he never played in... that's been a fact going on damn near 15 years

Adidas is cooler because limited supply creates artificial demand

All Adidas is doing to copying Nike designs and making them limited

Yeezys are a copy of the Rose

Ultra Boost are a copy of Prestos

They also have copied Flyknit

Nothing but complete nonsense.

The secret is the amazing boost technology. Plus the styles shyt on addidas something serious.

That boost technology isn't in the NMDs

There are plenty of shoes with great soles that don't have hype behind them

Ultra boost look like Prestos and that's a fact

Plus Adidas doesn't know how to deal with the attention and are already killing off their best shoes

The sooner people stop buying J's the better. ADDIDAS is the future.

I'm rocking addidas dman near 24/7 now. Perfect for work, fitness, and street wear. Awesome product.

So you don't want a brotha to get some pocket change?
Seems like Adidas really has you on lock

one word - ADIDAS

yeezys and NMDs are nike's biggest headache
accurate.

i tried to ignore them because theyre so hard to find, but fell in love w/ a pair of nmds, tracked them down and its so damn comfortable its not even funny. and them shyts look sweet. jordan brand isnt the problem tho. those retros are gonna be money forever, its the other signature shoes. the new pg's look (just) cool, but the brons always looked bulky, the kyries look like shark's mouths, kobe's are hit or miss (i havent like them since the ix's) and other than the resurgence of prestos and the roshas their trainer/lifestyle cycles are basura. flynit is a great concept, but theyve gotta have sweeter designs. their sock like adidas ripoffs are horrible for the most part and theyre still tryna push af1's! they shoulda just listened to kanye (cant believe i typed that) and alotta this woulda been avoided because people still arent checking for adidas basketball shoes, but other than jordans & foams, basketball isnt the wave. again, its trainers/lifestyle shoes that the kids like, now.

I love how they try and downsize the price being a major factor :mjpls:

I'm sure there's a correlation between that $190 standard price and the decline in sales....

it's a blessing and a curse though. you can cop Js for cheap on the resale market now if you're patient enough

I cant get over the fact that folks buy used shoes....

Are they purchased as art pieces / collectors items....or do folks actually wear used shoes?

Excuse my ignorance, I am not up on the shoe game.

According to Luber, as of January 2015, Jordan Brand made up 96% of the shoe resale market and Adidas was down to around 1%. Nowadays, said Luber, Adidas has 45% market share.

"So, in two and half years, [Adidas] basically went from nonexistent or 1 percent call it, to about 45 percent of the resell market in terms of dollars," Luger said. "And all of that share comes right from

Jordan brand don't make any money from the resale market, :mjlol: and propping up the resale market doesn't help them at all long term.

Jordan brand main problem is that outside of retros, no one cares about their other sneakers, and therefore, people know that the retro are going to be released again in 2-3 years anyway.

Same here. Tried to ignore the Adidas wave on some "ima stick with what I grew up with" type shyt. That worked for like 2 years til I picked up some EQT's on sale. My mouth was on the floor at how comfy they was. Picked up some used NMD's off eBay a few weeks later and I ain't looked back since. Still own mostly nikes by far, but I haven't bought any new ones since then tho. The comfort + plus how they look with jeans in my shoe size. I don't even look at it as a young breh style. To me some low key colorway NMD's with some nice jeans looks a lot more casual than them same jeans with some clunky basketball shoes or AM95's on

the jumpman doesn't flow well for logo slaps
most silhouettes are clunky the materials/construction don't feel premium anymore
honestly mike has zero style he needs to let them find a designer.creative team with vison

start a diffusion line with the wings badge logo or something

Jordan Brand and Nike made a conscious decision to discourage resellers and this article is just a result of that intentional effort. The secondary market had minimal benefit to their bottom line, which was basically keeping the "buzz" for certain shoes. On the other hand, there was negative publicity from the violence associated with release dates as well as the fact that the resellers (and not Nike) were the only ones making tangible profits from the setup.

To address these issues, Nike and Jordan Brand did a few things in conjunction. They raised the price of the shoes slightly to cut into the profit margins of resellers. They also stopped giving hard release dates, which all but eliminated the long lines associated with the hype beasts trying to cop 10 pair for the secondary market. Then they released even more shoes, flooding they market to the point there is no reason to go to a reseller when the shoes are likely available in stores.

I'm a perfect example of how this proces has allowed non hypebeasts to get a pair of Jordan's when they want. Saw some all suede blue Jordan 1s on somebody's instagram feed in February or March. Looked them up and bought them within a week.

And even with all that, the hypebeasts are still making sure certain shoes sell out immediately like the Top 3s or the Royal 1s did earlier this year.

All that to say, Mike still winning with the kicks and will be for the foreseeable future.
