Turn 10, compulsion, and the initiative are probably on the chopping block.

i’d say double fine also but i could see them going independent again before being disolved. The industry loves Tim Schafer so it’d be bad if they cut them

i expext most of those smaller studios won’t survive in the long run though, it will be activision/blizzard and a couple of zenimax studios in the end.

Turn 10 - won't shutdown but they're going to downsize. Motorsport is redundant with the multiplatform push because PS gamers aren't buying that over GT> They will become a studio that focuses on support for Playground's Forza Horizon series and maintenance of Forzatech engine.

Compulsion - Is most likely done with South of Midnight not moving many units, but I could see a scenario where they stay if costs to produce games aren't expensive

Ninja Theory - Too expensive and not worth the cost due to poor sales results

Rare - will receive some cuts but sea of thieves was a hit, but with Everwild MIA for long, I worry for them

Overall, we can discuss many of their studios that are taking too long to produce results and I can see Microsoft pull the plug. They will most likely shift to focusing on Franchises from xbox studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard King. I think the ones that have to be on their toes are the smaller studios that aren't attached to franchises. I assume some of the cuts must be from distribution, marketing, and some people that work on hardware. With their new push they're more likely going to streamline development and make cuts because there's many redundant position by becoming a publisher.

I have no clue what this all means for their hardware future, but I wouldn't put money on Microsoft recovering. I think nothing gets solved if you don't cut the cancer that is Phil, Booty, Greenberg, and crew. In any other company they would have lost their jobs due to poor results.

If they found it too expensive to keep Tango open, (which is based in Japan and prob a bit cheaper than Canada) then idk what hope compulsion really has. its not like the next one will be a big hit

but that kind of goes for all their games, avowed, Hellblade 2, Indiana jones, flight sim, forza, etc. all these games just get dropped into the service with no marketing no fanfare, no real word of mouth or anything and everyone just moves on. people talk more about “game pass crushing it” more than they talk about any individual game on the service.

i doubt any of these games are making any real money, even with playstation ports.

Turn 10 is hard at work on the highly anticipated Fable game, so you just keeping things MANDATORY eh?
compulsion,
Compulsion is a CANADIAN studio, not central Europe. But I'm loving how you are praying for their downfall because of south of midnight being black excellence :blessed:
and the initiative are probably on the chopping block.
The initiative is a Santa Monica studio that hasn't released anything yet, but they were created to make AAA games and I guess that fact alone makes you hate them so here we are. I could make up more compelling arguments for why Sony should chop Naughtydog :patrice:

Double Fine is another fantastic studio and YOU YOURSELF have professed your love for some of their titles so I guess you're hoping these studios can be acquired by Sony. Sorry bruh, Double Fine is a San Fran based studio so hopefully you are 100% wrong as usual.
TBC...

Yep, they’re a great studio, hopefully they get a Toys For Bob deal and get to buy back freedom before they get dissolved under salty Nutella

That's right :snoop: But, isn't the next Forza supposed to come out next year as a launch title for the next Xbox? (I believe so)

Buy back their freedom? Microsoft is why they are allowed to FLY bruh :stop:
Psychonaunts 2 wouldn't have came out if it wasn't for Microsoft holding them down.

There's even a rumor that P3 is in the works. Either way, :umad:

I've felt this same way they’re doing a disservice to their smaller titles from the OG Xbox studios because they heavily promote Activision/Bethesda games and make them multiplat (Doom, Oblivion, and THPS 3+4 for example are getting ads blasted on both Xbox and PS storefronts) while the smaller studios and New IPs just get the Gamepass treatment on the console they continue to devalue themselves.

If they're gonna go multiplat with all the big games they might as well let the smaller ones cook on other systems as well from the jump to give those IPs a real chance. They're basically relegating those games to "little brother" status because even if a new IP is a hit, it's hardly gonna get the same looks or promotion as their mutliplat games. Plus we all know that if an Xbox game does become some breakout hit, the PS/Switch2 ports are more or less inevitable down the line anyway. Might as well cash in on the game while initial hype is still there and all audiences can engage with it at once

The craziest thing is that had Microsoft actually made their games exclusive, the market would be MUCH more competitive right now and you could very well make the argument that Microsoft's software output has been better than both Nintendo/Sony within the past year or so. But they are 100% Activision+Bethesda Sponsored by Microsoft at this point and the Xbox brand as we've known it is dying a slow, quiet death.
